nice pictures.
Ahmedabad has to concentrate more on bye-pass or ring roads. Last time when i travelled from Himatnagar bye-pass to Naroda(to Baroda expressway) i found there was no signals for about 15-18KM stretch. But i saw severe traffics in the points were roads leads to down town of Ahmedabad... No traffic police and no signals. It will great if the city has very good road infrastructure!

It may look like any other Indian city, however, I bet if you were to compare Gujarati cities to the national average in terms of what % of people own certain consumer goods (tv, refrigerator, cell phones, air conditioners, cars, scooters, etc.), Guju cities would be higher. Another thing to remember is Ahmedabad is India's 7th largest city and if you compare it to the other metros, it's the only city that doesn't have a significant IT presence but is still just as prosperous as the other metros. Not to drag this on & on but two more points: Smaller Guju cities & towns and rural Gujarat fare much better than the national average in overall development (whereas Ahmedabad is similar to cities around its size) and Gujus outside of Gujarat (like Mumbai and the Western world for example) are usually affluent. Cheers!

All credit for these pics goes to Zymark9 @ flickr
Seems to be involved with Real Estate in the Western Subarb of Bodakdev, so most pics are from that area.
