I will explain part of the reason why it's pretty tough to find street scenes in Downtown San Francisco: the area where locals refer to as downtown is actually the Financial District, with lots of multi-story office buildings. The buzz of activity in that area would be concentrated mostly on Market Street, where Muni buses, streetcars, taxis, and trucks go through.

Beyond that, places close to downtown that thrive with activity would include the area around the Ferry Building and Justin Herman Plaza (art vendors, skateboarders, and cyclists), Union Square (particularly at the Market & Powell cable car turnaround), and Chinatown (particularly along Stockton Street, Powell Street north of California Street, and Grant Avenue north of Bush Street).

Awesome stuff mate, I can't wait to visit San Fran one day. A friend of mine in Wellington has just come back from SFO and says that there was a lot that reminded him of Wellington - you have been to both, did you see any similarities (besides the obvious of one being much bigger than the other) ?

San Francisco is indeed a wonderful city, and I'm very happy to call it my second home. The Bay Area has a lot to offer, from wonderful sceneries to exciting events to quaint communities, and I personally invite you to visit the region that hosts the Golden Gate Bridge, the Wine Country, and Alcatraz, as well as dozens of other unique attractions found in its over 100 cities and towns.

It was raining for most of the time I was there so I didn't get a chance. The last day was sunny but I only had the morning to take photos

The weather isn't too similar aside from the average temperatures, seeing as Wellington has a marine climate and SF has a Mediterranean climate. SF has slightly higher average temperatures (65/51 average highs/lows vs. 60/50 for Wellington), but gets much more sun (3,061 annual sunshine hours vs. 2,065 for Wellington), and gets far less rain than Wellington does (23 inches per year vs. 46 for Wellington).

I have heard the comparisons to Wellington before though. Must be due to the setting (hills, the harbour/bay, etc) and some of the architecture. Downtown Wellington also seems to be pretty densely built, and is right on the waterfront, which reminds me of SF.

Also, Wellington is very hip, artsy and bohemian - just like San Fran.

Yosemite indeed is captivating and breathtaking at the same time! Gotta love the highway scenery, and I really love the waterfall shots! Well done yet again!
