Design of the stadiums is great but most of the stadiums had a horrible pitch.

Rustenburg had a great pitch throughout. The problem with Soccer City was that it hosted concerts just before the opening games and final.

Some final statistics

Total attendance 729 000, average attendance 22 781
To put that in context, these are the numbers since 1996:
2012 Gabon Equatorial Guinea: 456 332, 14 260
2010 Angola: 543 500, 18 741
2008 Ghana: 714 000, 22 313
2006 Egypt: no data
2004 Tunisia: 553 500, 17 297
2002 Mali: 570 000, 17 813
2000 Ghana Nigeria: 677 500, 21 172
1998 Burkina Faso: 412 800, 12 900
1996 South Africa: 640 880, 22 099

So, we have the best attended AFCON under the current format.

Player of the Tournament: Jonathan Pitroipa (Burkina Faso)
Tournament Top Scorer: Emmanuel Emenike (Nigeria)
Fair Player of the Tournament: Victor Moses (Nigeria)
Goal of the tournament: Youssef Msakni (Tunisia) vs Algeria

Team of the tournament:
GK: Vincent Enyeama (Nigeria)
DF: Bakary Koné (Burkina Faso), Nando Maria Neves (Cape Verde), Efe Ambrose (Nigeria)
MF: Jonathan Pitroipa (Burkina Faso), Siaka Tiéné (Ivory Coast), Seydou Keita (Mali), John Obi Mikel (Nigeria), Victor Moses (Nigeria)
FW: Asamoah Gyan (Ghana), Emmanuel Emenike (Nigeria)

Final team rankings:

2 Burkina Faso
3 Mali
4 Ghana
5 Ivory Coast

It's a success, but to be honest, the stadiums were looking empty throughout the tournament, except final. I was hoping to see much more fans, the only country which surprised me positively by the number of supporters was... Ethiopia
