I know one huge exception...although I kinda like Citic plaza because of its clean lines.

It's buildings like SHS that made me hate mid-90s postmodernism.
Also, green glass + beige concrete =
by far my least favourite cladding style.

Many of you might disagree but I think, IMO, the most overrated building in the world is the Oriental Pearl Tower.

I hate it with a passion, everything about it. There's only one building in the world uglier than this that I know of, but that one deserves the hate it gets, so it's not overrated.

Ugh, I know. That's my least favorite time period in skyscraper history. Tuntex Sky Tower is even worse.

I absolutely love it. It gives Shanghai personality and an edge. If the concrete was white, it'd be immaculate.

And what do you think is uglier than this?

What do you mean by "some people" ?

Funny, because someone else said that on the "This building reminds me..." thread.

Oh yeah, it does.

@LAF2
Kunsthaus in Graz. I might have posted it in the 'ugliest buildings' thread before.

I think it's the opposite. I think Eureka Tower is underrated and should be more well known. For me at least, Eureka Tower is the tower that got me interested in skyscrapers in Australia. Q1 in the Gold Coast is one of the most beautiful skyscrapers ever built. Eureka Tower is a beautiful building.

But in terms of what buildings I think are overrated:

Eureka vs. Q1 will be a battle for the ages. I have to say I think Eureka may have a slight edge, though.

I personally love Burj not for its height but for its design. Height means almost nothing to me since I only used to be interested in low-rise architecture.

He was referring to the style, it wasn't to do with it being 'overrated'

I said it
As for Burj, I don't think people say "wow, it's gorgeous !" but rather "wow it's bigger than unemployment in Poland !"
In terms of height it's certainly not overrated, because it is impressive in that aspect.

I like it, although I've never seen it from that angle. Definitely not its best side.
