I think this thread is for the main tower alone, maybe there should be a seperate thread for the whole business district (like there are threads for the two new business districts in Tianjin), and this one could be renamed to "Qianhai BD Main Tower", that would be my idea.

The last time someone requested that, someone said that it is to early to make a thread for it. But since much information gets published I would say that a thread would be good now

I think when the time comes we can make a business district thread for this. Actually one should already be made for Houhai since it's a lot further along. When I feel like it I can make it and if anyone wants to help... (Scion, z0rg, KillerZavatar, TowerVerre, Munwon, anyone else with knowledge) I'm looking at you.

for the district there is for the main tower however is not really significant information. maybe this thread should just be renamed to be for the whole area for now instead would be my suggestion, since this thread has no information about the main tower per se, but only for the CBD. when the time has come and we got more than just preliminary concept designs and actually know where the plots exactly are located with what specific height new threads for any building confirmed 300m or taller are needed. how we work with the shenwan station towers is what i think about. we have that main thread there for more information of the several plots, but once one design came we opened a new thread for that specific tower (hongshu)

i do understand why this thread was created to begin with for just one tower. because 800m is just not neglectable, however if the thread gets changed to the name of the Qianhai CBD we still will have the 800m in the title.

for one shenzhen bay, tianji and the china resource headquarters we do have threads already. heung kong of course as well, but i am not sure if that still belongs to houhai or is seperate. a thread compiling these existing projects with all the empty supertall plots would be great, but i havn't really seen any layout of plots for the area really, projects just seem to keep popping up. i never really knew how many supertalls and skyscrapers were proposed in the area, so i never even considered it needing a thread on its own . however if there is one i would certainly like to share any information i come across, if any, to help.

good overview. you did however not mention shenwan station which is a rather big project in terms of number of skyscrapers and supertalls as well. the area for it however is not that big since it is densly planned.

I did not put in Shenwan for now because there is no activity yet and plans can change. The map follows the currently active CBD projects as of today.

oh got it. thanks for clearing it up. yes a lot of stuff is planned and we will see what will happen in the area, might come suddenly since there is nothing to be demolited and the plots lay just there for development to come.

T201-0080 plot to be developed by a joint venture between Chow Tai Fook and Excellence. Two big ones together, we should expect something tall.

Both are just northeast of Houhai, I think I will make another map just showing Nanshan projects, there's over 5 big zones developing (Houhai, Qianhai, Science & Technology Park, Eco city, Dachong, Shenwan, Baishizhou, etc...)

Given height restrictions maybe we shouldn't expect something too tall but some kind of multitower madness.

I'm losing my hope of seeing a WT in Qianhai (maybe in Shenwan or Baishizhou though), but a 300-400m bukkake could be even more awesome.

So basically you got all those other areas in more or less the same area, but they don't constitute a big CBD on its own? As a city planner I'd connect Shenwan and Baishizhou to Houhai if they are as close as you make it seem, to create a bigger whole, but I suppose there are good reasons against that.

I would be for the 300m-400m bukake
Hopefully still some 500m towers, but a tower over 800m doesn't fit in any skyline imo. And to balance a megatall at least 2 500m towers should be near and a few 400m+ and 300m+.

Yeah, everything except Qianhai will be more or less continuous in that section of Nanshan, I'm sure they will have good connections once it is all completed, though right now is the planning and construction stage so they are conceived as separate projects.

the renders of qianhai already showed masses of skyscrapers and many 300m buildings, so i rather have many supertalls and a megatall or two instead of very many supertalls and no megatalls :P but yes, we certainly have other areas that still have good chances of giving us a few 600m building and hopefully an 800m one some day, like maybe future city tower.
