Ground work means they started pilling. Soil tests or just digging a hole doesn't count.

The Italian online newspaper "Repubblica" has just revised Burj Khalifa's height to 2722 METERS, as it's written in the homepage and the featured video about the base jump from the tower by Fugen and Ferret.
Of course the lamers mistook feet for meters, nothing new for this paper.
Home says "Base-jumping challenge for two from the two thousand meters tall tower".

seems they don't count the spire. Maybe it's counted as an antenna. Weird....but seems i've to change it as well.

yeah, weird that they do it silently and not announce it and do it so long after it was finished already.

Assuming the antenna is actually 332m (the height in the U/C thread), I have measured the architectural top to be around 270m in four different images (266m, 267m, 272m, 272m). 256m seems a little short.
If this was still classed as a supertall, at least it still has more than 50 floors. Kingdom Centre and Aspire Tower do not, and the latter is clearly an observation tower, NOT a skyscraper.
Now they just need to do this to some more buildings, like 1WTC

Do you have any idea why they count Aspire Tower??

As I understand half of the building has to be habitable floors in order to be counted as a building.... It's difficult to see that Aspire would meet that criteria.

And yes. It's not totallt clear what is a spire and what is an antenna... Maybe thet should just start counting antennas

I'm sure a radio amateur can use the Burj's spire as an antenna and get a great signal anyway

I heard it is far more dangerous to base jump from 8 stories...?

I would say Aspire tower complies the conditions to count as Skyscraper. It has 36 floors and when i look at the pics i would say more than 50% of the building are habitable floors.
