From 17th until the 21st of januari I went on a little city trip to Dubai.

3.
View at the skyscrapers along Sheikh Zayed Road.

4.
Let zoom in a bit.

5.
And a bit more

6.
Looking down at the shade of the Burj and the two towers of Boulevard Plaza including the new walking bridge/link which takes you from the metrostation directly into Dubai Mall.

7.

10.
Views on Business Bay.

11.
ďAt the TopĒ.

12.
The Souk Al Bahaar.

13.
View towards the Creek; with Festival City (right) and the tall tower u/c: D1 tower (284m).

14.
Dubai Health City (area) and the airport.

15.
Deira the emirate Sjarah.

16.
Mirrortime!

17.
Down on the ground at Downtown Dubai!

18.
My necks hurts with that 828m!! WOW. In real life its just so ****ing impressive!!

19.
We take a walk around Downtown along the Emaar Boulevard.

20.
Modern vs. "OLD"

21.
Emaar Boulevard.

22.

23.
Emaar Boulevard with views towards the skyscrapers at SZR.

24.
Sunsets @ Emaar Boulevard.

25.
Lower appartments and The Index (r) en Central Park (l) .

26.
SUNSET (1).

27.
SUNSET (2).

28.
Dubai Fountains (great to see in real life!) .

Day 2 Dubai

Day 2 was on a friday so the subway/metro didn't run until 1pm. So lets go walking!

30.
Massive construction site beside the creek of the project: "Jewel of the Creek" with the true skyline behind it!

31.
Walking on the floating bridge over the Creek with Burj Khalifa.

32.
Watertaxi and the well known National Bank of Dubai.

33.
Cool mirror facade!!

34.
Little boat Dubai style!

35.
Shipping on the creek.

36.
Easy way going with those abra's for 1 dirham!

37.
Old part of town at the Deira side of the Creek.

38.
On the Creek itself.

39.
Just very relaxing on the water!!

40.

41.
Mirror mirror.....

42.
Twin Towers Dubai

43.
Almost 1pm so going to the subway. Here we are at the square of the subwaystation Al Ghubaiba.

Friday afternoon I went to Palm Jumeirah for a visit to The Lost Chambers in the Atlantis hotel. First I went to the subwaystation Nakheel. Pretty long trip

44.
Just out of the station we got this view!!

With al those big roads and construction sites it wasn't that easy to get to the station for the monorail to the Atlantis hotel... so still needed a taxi for that short ride....

45.
Before getting a cab had this view of the Al Khazim Towers.

46.
View from inside the monorail with Burj Al Arab and Dubaiís skyline.

47.
Buildings/houses on Palm Jumeirah.

48.
Outside the Atlantis hotel.

49.
Very nice boat!!

50.
Atlantis hotel.

51.
Skyline of Dubai Marina from behind the glass at the station of the monorail @ Atlantis hotel.

52.
Again but now with a monorail train.

53.
Very, very impressive!

After getting back at the subway station I went towards the ďFinancial CenterĒ station. Here I visited the roof top terrace of the Four Points Sheraton @ SZR. I was there before sunset so great views and skies! Later that evening I went back and had a cocktail and whiskey enjoying the skyline!!

54.
"Nothern part" of SZR, with Khalid Al Attar tower (294m), Al Yaquob tower (BIG BenÖ 328m).

55.
You just can't get enough of these kind of views!!

56.
Back at the other side zooming it towards the Creek and the skyline of Sharjah.

57.
Greats views and skies!

58.
Orange Skyline far away

59.
Business Bay.

60.
Mosque at the sea.

61.
One of the best sunsets I ever witnessed.

62.
WTC Dubai.

63.
Big flag of Dubai and QE 2 is in drydock.

On day 3 we go to Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Lakes, and a bit of Old Town.

Back in the subway towards ĎBusiness Bayí.

89.
Still a lot in recession (on hold...)

90.
Burj Khalifa is back in the views.

91.
In Business Bay there is still A LOT of space for development, but first they shoudl finish all those towards still u/c and on hold...

No I had a room in the Suha City Hotel.
1/4 sounds too cheap . more like price for one night! Or you had a really good deal. Well I also used tripadvisor to finaly pick my hotel!
Doesn't matter anyway. Suha City Hotel was great for me with an excellent room, big breakfast etc

Very interesting and cool city/photos!
There still seem to be a lot of areas that are undeveloped, with red/brown sand , it might be buildings and greenery in the future.

Thanx for all the comments!!

My final day in Dubai

Sunday afternoon a lunch visit was planned to the Burj Al Arab !!!, but in the morning I first went to SZR.

Got out of the subway/metro at Emirates Towers.

101.
More then enough towers along side the SZR, one disadvantage so many asfalt/roads and almost no place to cross it!! (only subway stations)

102.
SZR.

103.
Emirates Towers ‘twins’.

104.
Blue glass is popular!! HHHR Tower (317m), JAL Hotel tower (270m), Park Place (234m).

105.
Nice 'light' from the park area around Emirates Towers towards The Index.

106.
Towers at the SZR from the park @ Emirates Towers

107.
Green and towers.

108.
Emirates Towers.

109.
The Gate.

110.
Mirror mirror.

111.
The street behind SZR, on the left still several hotels but on the right you only looks at parking garages of the towers along SZR....lots of concrete in colours.....I say integrate those garages with the design of the towers themselves like same sort of facade or something....

112.
Yellow Car.

In the afternoon I went to the Burj Al Arab for a skytea in the Skyview Bar at 200m high in the Burj. (You need a reservation!!!)
It cost me 450 AED but was still worth every cent! Seven courses and a glass of champagne and unlimmeted tea (very special blands) or coffee...

113.

114.
Shape is easy to guess not?? Course six! Yum!!!

115.
View from 200m high towards Jumeirah Beach Hotel.

116.
Sort of skyline from behind the blue glass...

117.
Inside the Skyview Bar.

118.
Elevatordoors in the Burj.

119.
Down in the 'lobby'

120.
Once in a lifetime experience!!

121.

122.
Walking a bit around the Burj which is normaly not possible...but a gate was open

123.
Sideview of the Burj

124.
Looking up high towards the spot I had that lunch

125.
RR’s Burj.

126.

127.
Flowers and Burj Al Arab.

128.
From the bridge between the Burj and mainland Dubai.

After my lunch and visit to the Burj al Arba I first went to the Mall of the Emirates.

129.
At the main entrance of the Mall it was almost a traffic jam of very nice cars!!

130.
A yellow horse!

131.

My final hours I spent at the Dubai Mall and around Burj Khalifa.

132.
Inside Dubai Mall you have an under water zoo and a mega ‘aquarium’wall

133.
You also can go ice skating!

134.
The Waterfall in Dubai Mall

135.
The Fountain outside can do more then only water....Fire!!! During the special half hour show around the DSF 2013.

This was my Dubai visit, next stop for me is Barcelona in march!

Great pictures, nice perspectives. Some of the buildings are simply gorgeous! You introduced me to areas of Dubai that I wasn't aware of. Thank you for sharing these views of Dubai with us.
