Especially with none of them having a name besides their address.

But not so thrilled with the emphasis on billionaires... we need less Tale of Two Cities, not more.
There wouldn't be supertalls without the billionaires you hate. There wouldn't be a lot of luxuries and conveniences you use every day without billionaires. Maybe you should re-direct your anger to more pressing global matters. If you can't think of any I will certainly educate you.

I DON'T hate billionaires and appreciate that they contribute mightly to the local economy.... just think all this pampering "you deserve the best" finger screwing when most of the people aren't factored in at all.... higher rents, higher sales prices for condos , luxurious brands... it's too much a celebration of excess. The buildings are gorgeous and I'm not saying I hate them for being billionaires but as it seems that the differences between the have somes, struggling and have nots and the have it alls is becoming more and more pronounced and just really not good for society.

The statement you were referring to mentioned nothing about "hating" billionaires. And historically speaking this obviously overly sensitive (to any remotely negative language about the super rich) statement is inaccurate. the last big round of supertall construction came right at the end of the strongest middle class in American history in the early 70's.

Billionaires are mostly scum. The idea that they are benevolent overlords from which we get all the good things in life (luxuries and conveniences) is absurd.

I can guarantee you all wouldn't be saying the things you say about wealthy people if you had the money yourselves.

I remember when I was thirteen years old and thought being a contrarian on the internet was fun and cool. That was back in the early AOL days of the mid 90s.

I hope you grow out of this. You'll be cringing at this kind of thing for decades. It'll flash into your mind on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Oooooh. Remember when I said that dumb shit to be edgy?

NY Yimby hinted in the Nordstrom thread that if his sources are correct it wont be the the tallest residential tower in the city. He wont spill but l wonder if this is the one.

I hope not. It wold look odd next to WTC1. I'd much prefer it to be in midtown.

l'd like to see the WTC surpassed downtown in the future but l agree with you. l can't see it visually so close together.

Are you guys serious? They would have to triple the square footage to go taller than Nordstrom. Downtown isn't the right place anyway, it will have to be near central park.

Totally serious. lt's inevitable that downtown will get a supertall in the future that isn't in the WTC complex.

There most definitely will be other supertalls downtown, but there's a big gap between the supertall cutoff and being taller than One WTC and Nordstrom. 22 Thames just doesn't have the square footage to go that tall -- it would be stretched to the point that it looks like a thread of hair standing on end. If someone has intel on Shvo acquiring further air rights for this tower, then I'd say it's a possibility... but for now it's much safer to assume YIMBY's mystery tower is uptown.

Sure but taller than 1wtc?! I expect a bit south of park lane. Billionaires clearly want views of central park and there are plenty of large assembleges to be made.

Shvo keeps stressing that his site has no height limits. I can see a 475m+ tower rising here.
