I'm equally interested in the Shvo Tower site on 57th Street. There have been no leaked details, except I think NY Yimby had a floor count at some point. I think I know the property location, but am not 100% certain.
With the additional $40m by the Indian Billionaire, that gives a total of $280m, however $180m of that is used for the land acquisition.

So far for land prep and construction, that gives Shvo so far about $100m to go towards it and eventually secure a construction loan for the difference to start. My guess the construction cost to build this sucker would be $1B give or take. Nonetheless, it's good to hear Shvo being active to secure additional funds.

I'm kinda bummed this project is happening before 2WTC gets a chance to rise. I was looking forward to the complete World Trade Center complex being the king of Lower Manhattan, towering over every other building in the area. Now not only is there a supertall going up in the neighborhood, but one that could come within feet of 1WTC's roof.

Correct pronunciation?

Can anyone tell me the correct pronunciation of Thames St in NYC? Is it like London Thames or Newport RI Thames?
Thanks.

Does anyone have any tips for pretending a supertall skyscraper doesnt even exist? I'm gonna need it for this one.

We still don't know for sure what Shvo is going to put up there. I doubt the final shape has been decided yet.

another few feet and the roof would be higher than 1WTC, I think they should just go for it.

That's the exact opposite of what I want them to do. Or at least delay the project 15 years. I want to see 1, 2, 3, 4 WTC be the kings of Lower Manhattan just like all the renderings I've seen for years. I'm not normally anti height (or pro height for that matter), but this project irks me. Midtown can have their billionaires row, super skinny, 1400fters. Just leave Lower Manhattan alone.

^ Well, I say go for it Mr. Shvo! It's not his fault that 1WTC is "only" 1,368ft to the roof. Should have built the tower 1,776ft to the roof to be safe for a while.

If anything.

Shouldn't this still be classified as a proposal? Towerpower's photo shows no work being done whatsoever.

I totally agree, if they never wanted the WTC towers to be passed they should have made them taller. They are obviously still tall and will work great together as a supertall complex but I have no problem with taller buildings being built downtown. Hell, the twins would have been overshadowed by the NYSE tower if it weren't for 9/11.

The WTC's spiral master plan will never get to be completely realized, this tower will throw that design off even if it thins out drastically at the top. I just wish there would be couple of years for the completed WTC to dominate before this one started rising....damn you 2 WTC.
