Yes, the building permits have been filed. We do know the height, and rough shape.

Exactly what I'm trying to say. This tower isnt even part of the WTC complex, but everyone will think it is because it's so close. Even if it were on the other side of Lower Manhattan it would be better, but it's just a block away.

There isn't some rule that other buildings aren't allowed to be built in lower Manhattan. Plenty of other supertalls will be built, I'm sure.

And who cares if someone thinks this supertall is part of the WTC complex? Why does it matter one way or the other? 5 WTC might be a supertall anyways, and throws off the spiral, Fisher Brothers plans a nearly 1,000 ft. tower next to the WTC, there's the Four Seasons, and I'm sure there are other very tall towers planned for the area. The spiral isn't going to stand out regardless of this Shvo supertall.

NatFan, don't panic till you see the excavators.

Again, why is this prep? Does that include mental preparation?

I just want one day where the new WTC complex has the same massiveness in comparison to the buildings around it that the old one did. Just one day. After that they can build whatever they want.

They will. Height is not everything. The WTC towers will be so dominating just by sheer massing they will still have the effect the old Twins had from street level.

Absolutely it does! And let's not forget that an essential part of prep is picking

an appropriate montage song to be played when construction lags and deadlines

are threatened.

well, not really. Height can always be changed in new permits and it's already been Shvown that the final design hasn't been revealed, because the only renderings we have of the tower don't depict the actual design of the tower and were released without authorization.

Always thought the spiral plan was kind of silly if you ask me... this will dominate along with the WTC so it's even better

the plan would have been better if only 2 similar height towers were built and 4 smaller buildings, but alas we are stuck with something mediocre and lackluster hope this and the midtown towers steal its thunder

will the real world trade center please stand up.

sorry the whole project has been overrun with budget issues and the lack of motivation by the port authority to get it done. come on how long does it take to build 7 or 8 buildings apparently an eternity. but back on topic has mr shvo got any financial backing for this.

$170M in bonds and $40M from an Indian billionaire, last we heard. I reckon that's enough to break ground. Anybody have more up-to-date info? I may have missed something.

It's a nice tower, but I feel it destroys the Lower Manhattan skyline.
