I agree. I'm a little skeptical with the 1,300' figure as well, but nonetheless it's another tall tower rising in lower Manhattan to enhance the skyline.

It's exactly not the right hight to make the cluster look good...

Ha, I know that's why it's dumb that they would choose such height.

It almost would look better being the same height as 4WTC although that still would look weird.

Not that I believe this tower should define itself against the WTC, but if we're talking pure aesthetics, I think the best height would be roughly half-way between the roofs of 3 and 4 WTC, or half-way between the roof and setback of 4 WTC.

If it were wider, you could conceive of setbacks that would relate to the various levels of the WTC towers and the other neighbors, but since it's so thin, meaningful setbacks would be almost impossible. Hopefully they come up with a way to articulate the surface (maybe something along the lines of 432 Park's open mech floors) so it's not just a slab with no relation to its neighbors.

It's kinda hard to seperate this building's height from its relation to the WTC, considering it's the tallest and one of the most famous buildings in America, but I agree on those height proposals. 1300' is just too tall in relation to the WTC for me.

Not sure if the rendering that's posted on the door is accurate but if it is it def. won't be 400+ meters and it sure is boring

Ugh. Why. If they're going back to Vinoly they could at least have kept the weird fin from the old design to make it more interesting. I mean it could look cool if the cladding is super slick but this is highly disappointing to say the least.

Can anybody guess what the height is based on this render?
