Wow, to everyone hating it. I think it looks OK. Much better than 2WTC, which now everyone is starting to love.

Hate to say it, but 2 WTC is way better than this.

Could not believe my eyes!

Is this for real?!
If so than, dear developers, no new designs anymore! It's getting worse and worse. Just build the design below:

I think we should hold off the criticism of the tower until we get official renders. The Nordstrom saga serves as a good example, it seems like every time there is a rumored height change or minor alteration, everybody's up in arms yet there has been no official render from Extell. Same thing here, all Shvo has shown is a skyline shot of a tower that bares little resemblance to this one (no spires from that render). So I'll hold my outrage/excitement for the official render.
This tower IS butt ugly tho.

The design itself is great but the spire is a joke.

I agree. I think the design could be better, but its not bad. That spire is ridiculous though.

Lol!!Obviously,Shvo is laughing at us!
It is so insanely ugly that it has to be a joke.
For sure it can not be from A Selldorf as she is one of the most brilliant architect NY has seen for decades..

I hope that spire stays, if only to prove the ridiculousness of counting spires in height.

I like the design, at least for a glass clad building. The spire is fine but I don't count them when comparing height. A forest of spires is cool on a skyline.

It was pointed out at SSP that those are from the previous architect not Vinoly.

Uh. Everything about this is hideous. The proportions are all so wrong.

This is probably true. The renderings look very hastily done and they use the same 432 Park Ave interior rendering with just a different background looking out the bathroom window, which doesn't make sense.

If it is then these renderings are atrocious...

In the first rendering, it looks like there are two outcroppings jutting out from the building on either side. In the second rendering it looks like cut-outs from the building (which is in line with the most recently discovered renderings that came out yesterday).
