Yea, it seems like the design seems consistent with what we've seen so far, tho I like that first rendering much better. The scale seems a bit off tho.

From the same source
http://www.6sqft.com/checking-in-on-...ly-architects/

I think in terms of height, this is what we'll end up getting

Previous rendering

The new design look awesome.
I say that because the previous design was awful.

Yet another building with a similar box type design. I feel like theses are popping up all around the world. Here you have the torre Cepsa in Madrid. I mean it's not the worst but I was hoping for some originality :\

that's gotta be it. It's got the rounded corners, and the windows along the stripes match the 432-park esque rendering.

I don't see a spire which I think is good. It would've looked really stupid.

Phew. This looks much better than some of the earlier renders suggested. Glad they ditched the spire, and also apparently that cutaway in the upper floors that made the penthouses into a weird floating box.

It says in the article for that render that there will be a spire.

there is going to be some sort of topping element. Hence the ridiculous pole in earlier renderings as a placeholder. It will likely be some sort of intricate crown, as at 111 w 57th street.

said ridiculous pole:

I don't see why they couldn't preserve the previous building as a facadectomy

Oh damn, I missed that. I guess they just opted not to include it in the two most recent renders... Personally, I'd much prefer no spire (especially not the gigantic flagpole atrocity we've seen in some early renders) although I would welcome a tasteful crown.

Whatever will be built, I'll just be glad that it isn't a near replica of 432 Park Avenue. More or less. I hope.

I dont understand why it almost always must be boxes. Where is the creativity? Why not try to add some different shapes then squares?

Seeing all these tall tower popping up in LM makes me sad that the WTC wasn´t designed more ambitiously.

And taller. 1WTC as Land ark with 500m+ roof height and over 600m in total!
