5 Beekman is already bad enough, the FiDi does not need any more duds.

In my opinion here, this building does not fit all, New York City will overfill kitschy buildings ugly design.

I don't know if I agree with "kitschy," although I do agree there's something off about it. The oddly shaped crown; the high-contrast concrete stripes; the placement of the open mechanical floors right in the middle (I don't know why that bugs me so much, maybe that it flies in the face of the rule of thirds). I actually preferred the ultra-basic first renders with the single concrete wall. Hard to screw up a design so simple.

But considering how great 432 Park turned out, I'm inclined to give Vińoly the benefit of the doubt with this design -- as long as the ownership shake-up doesn't cause them to skimp on the materials.

Now, 45 Broad: that is kitschy. Towers like that should stay in the Dubai Marina.

How big are the chances for a design change for this one?

Improved now that Shvo is out, I would guess, although they may be far enough along that it's too late for a major redesign.

yet another rendering.

http://www.bizzipartners.com/125-greenwich

other renderings on Bizzi's website appear to depict a tower taller than 4 WTC.

I forgot to mention, but when I was at the WTC site last week there were a lot of workers on site.

Not sure what's going on behind the scenes but the site was active!

Edit- Read the article above. Explains things.

Yes, as of the last couple days there are now large strips of rebar sticking up. Certainly feels like things are moving forward, finally.

An article from Curbed:
https://ny.curbed.com/2017/7/28/1605...-new-rendering
Apparently this will rise to 912 feet (277 meters) according to the article, but the renders seem to show it rising about 984 feet (300 meters) comparing it to the nearby 4 WTC. However, it also needs to be noted the website with those renders states the tower will have 88 floors, while the Curbed article states it will have 72 floors, so it seems like 277 meters seems to be the more accurate number.

Is the Courtyard Marriott Hotel purposefully made to look like 4 WTC or is that just a "coincidence".
