Villa La Angostura (Argentina) in Summer

Villa La Angostura, Patagonia, Argentina

La Angostura is considered among the main attractions of Argentina's Andean Patagonia not only because of the wooden town itself, but also because of the beauty of its sights.

The village is located halfway between the cities of San Martín de los Andes and Bariloche, inside the Nahuel Huapi National Park and very close to Los Arrayanes National Park.

The area's micro-climate offers relatively mild temperatures though winter covers it in snow. Summers are known for being sunny and pleasant

The architecture of the town follows a stylized Alpine wooden style similar to that of Bariloche.

The area is known for its production of cheeses, smoked trout, artisanal beer, regional chocolates and ice cream, as well as its organic & wildcrafted jams and preserves, particularly sauco berries (Elderberries) among others.

A beautiful part of the world. Do many wealthy foreigners buy property here? Thanks.

It depends.

Speaking for foreigners, -not necessarily wealthy-, as general rule, the answer is yes.

Most areas are allowed for everybody, but there are caps on percentage of foreigners. Acquiring citizenship removes these caps. A lot of people have dual nationalities (generally Europeans).
Argentine citizenship is allowed for anybody without criminal records, but settlement -residence- is required.

So you may find lots of European architecture, and some towns even speak non-Spanish European languages.

Some national parks do not allow any private property at all. Some make exceptions for indigenous natives.

Some areas are public properties of indo-americans, so they decide who is allowed to buy and settle.

For commercial purposes, generally yes. But there are some exceptions. Sheraton was not allowed to make a giant hotel because of the environmental impact.
Large speculators grabbing large portions of land for speculative purposes are resisted.

very beautiful place.
It's quite similar to most parts of the Pacific Northwest (Washington & Oregon States and British Columbia)
