The part where the blue and green lines overlap is where the double decker viaduct is located.

Jaipur Metro will use BEML rolling stock, and as Jaipur is known as the Pink City, it's a pink-coloured version of its stock.

It's an error on my part as it's apparent there was an update I wasn't aware of.
The Jaipur Metro rolling stock would be like that of the Delhi Metro Violet line if one goes according to news reported.
Only the stripe will be pink, and not violet.

I've cleared my post.

in the whole thread not even ONE of your own pictures , only quotes from others.
Have you asked this users for permission using their pictures in this completely quoted thread? For sure not. Its easier to post directly links to google pictures instead of taking other users pictures (their coryright), declaring it to be "own thréad".

And change the name of this thread! These are NOT YOUR pictures, so declare it as it is in the name of the thread!

As I mentioned in the other topic...

There is no need to report to a moderator as we are often screen threads. Nor are there any infringements to any of the forum photo policies; I invite you and other members to see this post by our forum administrator. In this case, there are no rules broken.

As a global forum of urban transport, we value discussion and photographic updates of urban transport systems. Using photos taken by others on local forums and other websites are part of the standard process and are appreciated by many.

As a kind reminder for everyone, should any member find of problems of other members, one should immediately and directly inform a moderator instead of making public accusation posts such as these ones:

Thread name change requests should be also submitted to the forum moderator and cannot be changed by members, even those that started the discussion thread. Thread in the Urban Transport forum must comply with standard naming structure of "CITY | Public Transport System Type." This thread on Jaipur's Metro system complies with this.

deasine has requested you not to post false public accusations.
Also, deasine has advised us that this thread's title is correct.

On the other hand, the title of your thread is incorrect.

Please don't spoil this thread; I'll be grateful if I can submit cross-posts regarding Jaipur Metro peacefully without your unfair statements.

Instead, please comment / criticize / contribute positively to this thread on Jaipur Metro system.

n20-

Thanks for the updates! It's great to see cities in the developing world investing in public transport, it is but one strategy that is essential to bringing the quality of life for the average citizen up. Good to see Indian cities taking steps to mitigate environmental catastrophe as well.

I don't know Jaipur very well, but I understand that it is a big tourist destination. How well will the metro serve tourists and hotel areas?

BTW- I know that Genpact has a big office here, I work with this Genpact office everyday :P I call them my Indian friends.

Thanks for your nice post and for the encouragement, NickABQ.
Yes, India is ramping up big-time on her public urban transport infra, especially in the larger cities that need it most.

You're correct; Jaipur is indeed a major destination for both international and domestic tourists. In addition, Jaipur is the political and commercial capital of Rajasthan State.
Also, Jaipur is northern / north-western India's second-biggest city (second only to Delhi and its metropolitan region).

Both Metro lines are quite well-designed. Line 1, that's almost ready to open, will connect the main railway station and Pink City (the old planned city of Jaipur). Line 1 also crosses MI Road and other significant retail and business areas. All these neighbourhoods are also heavily frequented by tourists.
Most of line 1 connects major residential areas as well.

Cool to know you have friends at Genpact, Jaipur
