Wow, there is nothing to eat in this country, but hey, let's build a Supertall!!! Yes, that really makes sense and is the right answer to the problems of this part of the world. To be serious, this building would be a slap in the face of the hungry ones who live in the streets. What a perverted game!!!

Have you even thought about the fact these projects can put these kind of countries on the map and generate foreign investments and thus jobs? Ethiopia has a lot of economic potential (agriculture, manufacturing, mining, etc) and is developing very well.

Maybe this planned construction of the capital city will bring in money to pay for the food and water.

Seems like a Chinese company will be building this. So while it may seem perverted, hungry people and this tower are not connected at all. I think China is investing here and is aiming at a profit.

If it was funded by the government I would agree with you.

There are people who live in the streets, lack food and running water in Shanghai, Lagos, Moscow, New York, Karachi...etc(other big cities) while large projects are under construction. I presume this project will only help the economy, not hurt it.

funny how people, as soon as they see a project proposed in africa imediatly bring into discussion the hungry people and the lack of basic infrastructure. when will people understand that this kind of buildings are built with private money, by investors with profit on their minds, and not by the goverment or city administration? or maybe investments in africa should be halted until all the people have something to eat...

just my two cents...
