Bellevue wouldn't count in this case because it is the second city of the Seattle Metro area with a population north of 3.5 million. It's existence in it's current state is due to it's proximity to Seattle and Redmond.

I agree. Lets makes a rule here that the city must be at least 100 miles or 160km away from the next closest city.

With the metro area pop just around 400,000, I'd say its skyline is pretty impressive and with a river running in front of the downtown area it's quite pretty as well.

Since it is more of a beach resort I'm not sure if it counts, but its permantent population is well under 500,000.

By the way, I absolutely loved Regina's symmetric towers from the first picture. Very sober and elegant

Can't believe this "town" has only 9,000 perm residents, it looks more like a mini Honolulu to me. Nice skyline and beautiful seaside resort.

Can we also not include seaside resort cities?

Some of these seaside resorts are easily the winners.

Perhaps Balneário Camboriú (pop: 108 000) wins it for me:

Its either this one, or Benidorm.

Putrajaya is part of a metropolitan area of about 5 million people; well above the 500,000 threshold for this thread.
