It was configured with a payload of 40 business seats - 8 more than BA's A318 used for LCY-SNN-LGA run...
That's awesome, so it looks like it did it non-stop? No stop needed like on the A318 would be soo nice.

Assuming it carried the full weight payload of course. 40 seats and fairly unlimited baggage for the 40 business class bods. And there is no jetstream on the circle route this weekend unlike Dec or January for example. I'd say an A318 could have managed it too in the circumstances...except that it stops in SNN for US Preclearance as well as fuel.

But that is a Come and get me or else Delta will eat your lunch invite to IAG that.

Bombardier sells two CSeries planes to Tanzania
Bombardier Inc. will sell two CSeries aircraft to the government of Tanzania, its first order in seven months for the commercial planes.

The total order is for two CS300 planes and one Q400. By catalogue prices, the order is estimated to be worth about $203 million U.S. The planes will be operated by national carrier Air Tanzania.

The last CSeries order was in April, when U.S. carrier Delta Air Lines confirmed the purchase of 75 CS100s, a firm order valued at $5.6 billion U.S., based on catalogue prices.

Bombardier (TSX:BBD.B) delivered its first CS300 — the largest plane in the CSeries family — to Latvia’s airBaltic. That plane, which can carry up to 160 passengers, will make its first commercial connection Dec. 14, between Riga and Amsterdam. AirBaltic ordered a total of 20 CS300s.

So far, the Montreal-based airplane manufacturer has recieved 360 firm orders for its new aircraft, including 235 for the CS300.

Any update on the Q400 since it is due to be delivered in June or July 2017?

The reason for the lack of orders is that everyone who might order knows that P&W are simply not producing engines fast enough yet. If P&W get to scale on production....and it looks like they will not in 2017.....then the order situation will improve along with the engine delivery situation.

Bombardier's CS100 has been cleared for operations from airports with short runways... Steep Approach certification was awarded to Bombardier CS100 by EASA and Transport Canada on April 26.

Official Bombardier press release: http://commercialaircraft.bombardier...ardiercom.html

FlightGlobal is saying the certification should now allow Swiss to operate CS100 to London City...

Boeing launched an all out assault on Bombardier. Basically they accuse Bombardier of 'dumping' the Delta order for $20m each when they cost $33m to build.

https://leehamnews-5389.kxcdn.com/wp...int-042717.pdf

Quote:
Just as Airbus years ago
stole domestic market share and helped drive U.S. competitors Lockheed and McDonnell
Douglas out of the commercial airplane market by selling its subsidized aircraft at below-market
prices, Bombardier has targeted Boeing and the U.S. market by offering the subsidized C Series

at prices well below the airplanes' cost. And as a result, Boeing now faces a severe threat of
material injury as recent orders for Bombardier's planes mature into deliveries. Accordingly,
pursuantto Sections 701 and 731 of the Tariff Act of 1930 ("the Act"), 1 Boeing petitions the
International Trade Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce (the "Department") and
the·U.S. International Trade Commission (the "Commission") to initiate antidumping and
countervailing duty investigations of 100- to 150-seat large civil aircraft (the "Aircraft") from
Canada, and thereafter to impose antidumping and countervailing duty orders.
particularly.

Quote:
Meanwhile, Bombardier, armed with
billions in subsidies from Canada, Quebec, and the United Kingdom, is aggressively selling its C
Series aircraft in the U.S. Aircraft market at absurdly low prices-USD 19.6 million for
airplanes that cost USD 33.2 million to produce.2 Bombardier's first attempted sale in the U.S. market to United Airlines ("United") at cut-rate prices forced Boeing to [REDACTED]. In a subsequent sales campaign involving Delta Air Lines ("Delta"), Bombardier reinforced
the new, low pricing expectations in the U.S. market, selling 75 C Series Aircraft at the USO 19.6 million price point (with options for 50 more).

PUBLIC VERSION Proprietary Information Deleted
[REDACTED] means that Boeing admitted to selling 737-700 aircraft at prices below the cost of manufacturing themselves.

This will go nowhere in the end, Canada were just about to order some F18s off Boeing and now they will look to Europe instead. Bombardier simply won't sell any more cheap C Series in the US is all.

I thought Boeing had all the cards in this dispute but you bring up a very good point... maybe the JSF is not a bad fighter jet afterall

Agree. All the big aerospace firms do exactly the same thing. Complaints, subsidies, political pressure. It's how this industry has always worked.

Could airlines such as SWISS and airBaltic technically ask for some sort of refund or price match now that it's come to light how much Delta has paid for its C100 aircraft?
