Palace in Jabłonna, Legionowo County, Masovian Voivodeship

During the Middle Ages, Jabłonna was the property of the Bishops of Płock, who built a summer residence here in the 15th century. In 1773 the brother of the King Stanisław August - Michał Poniatowski, then Bishop of Płock and later the primate of Poland, bought the property in Jabłonna with the intention of turning it into an elegant palace-and-park residential complex. In 1774 he commissioned the royal architect, Dominik Merlini, to design the new residence. The construction of a three-building complex was proposed: a one-storey palace, which was intended to be the residence of the owner, was to be situated in the middle and flanked on both sides by separate three-storey pavilions. A scenic English-style park was developed in the 1770s and 1780s, based on the design of architect Szymon Bogumił Zug. The same architect also constructed a series of pavilions, of which three still remain today: the Grotto, the Orangerie and the Chinese Pavilion.
Jabłonna Palace was owned by the Potocki family until 1945. In 1944 the palace was burnt by the German army. Since 1953, Jabłonna has been owned by the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The Palace is currently used as a convention center, training center and is often used for weddings and wedding receptions. It includes a ballroom, dining area and hotel rooms. Concerts, recitals, art exhibitions and scientific shows are held at the venue. The park is also open to the public.

Primate's Palace, City of Warsaw, Masovian Voivodeship

The construction of the palace began in 1593, from the initiative of the Bishop of Płock Wojciech Baranowski. After he became the Primate of Poland, he transformed the palace into the headquarters of the Primate. It was demolished during the years of the Swedish Deluge in 1655-1657. Architect Józef Fontana was hired for the reconstruction. It was however plundered again in 1704 by Saxons, Vlachs and Cossacks. Until 1795 the rooms in the palace served as the home of the Primates of Poland. The building was gradually expanded. At the end of the 17th century it was expanded by architect Tylman van Gameren. In the first half of the 18th century it was rebuilt in rococo style to serve as a residence of Primate Adam Ignacy Komorowski. From 1777-1786 the palace was thoroughly reconstructed in the Classicist style. The main body of the building was expanded with the side wings with pavilions. Architects of the interior were Jan Chrystian Kamsetzer and Szymon Bogumił Zug.
The palace was destroyed during the Nazi Invasion of Poland, after the war it was gradually restored.Today, it houses offices of various companies and its historical halls are used for conference and exhibition purposes.

Mostowski Palace, City of Warsaw, Masovian Voivodeship

The palace had been built in 1762-65 in the Baroque style for the Wojewoda of Mińsk, Jan August Hylzen. In 1795 it became, by inheritance, the property of Tadeusz Mostowski, Duchy of Warsaw minister of internal affairs. The palace was purchased by the government and rebuilt in 1823-24 in the classicist style to a design by Antonio Corazzi. The building became the seat of Congress Poland's Commission of Internal Affairs and Police, and a venue of concerts by Fryderyk Chopin. In 1831 the palace was taken over for the needs of the Russian Army.
Renovated in 1920, it became the seat of various municipal offices. During World War II, in 1944, it was destroyed by the Germans, except for the facade. After the war, in 1949, the Mostowski Palace was rebuilt. It is now the seat of Warsaw's police headquarters.

I wonder if Warsaw would some day have an Open Door event where people could see all the restored interiors of these palaces. From what I understand from an uncle who knew people in the BOS post war a lot of the interiors were rebuilt quite faithfully in many cases. This makes such a big difference.

Good idea! Many people in Poland except some well known example, sometimes dont know how much and how close are these gems. This could be a good start to talk about it more.
