Helicopter flight over Philadelphia

Hey everyone. Haven't been here for about 6 years but thought I would come back to post a special photo set.

Last year I was looking for a unique way to propose to my girlfriend (now fiancee!) and here are the results. Of course, I had to bring my camera gear. What an amazing day...

Penn's Landing Heliport, our departure point, on the lower left

West Moyamensing Ave cuts through South Philly

Lincoln Financial Field

Two Liberty Place, One Liberty Place, the Comcast Center, and the Bell Atlantic Tower - the skyline from the northeast

Indepdence Hall and Independence Mall in the foreground, and the skyline from the east

Bridge crossings over the Schuylkill River, which separates Center City on the east (left) from University City in West Philadelphia. The Cira Centre stands above 30th Street Station and dominates the University City skyline.

Aramark Tower, Loews Philadelphia Hotel, and Market East neighborhood (foreground) from the northeast

Ben Franklin Parkway (foreground), Logan Square, Vine Street Expressway, and Delaware River

Skyline from the southwest with the Delaware River and Ben Franklin Parkway in the background

Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Fairmount Waterworks

Downtown Camden, NJ from the west, including Camden City Hall

Schuylkill River, East Park Reservoir, and Strawberry Mansion Bridge

Interstate 95, CSX Transportation South Philadelphia Yard, and the Walt Whitman Bridge

Two Liberty Place, One Liberty Place, and the Mellon Bank Center from the east

Northern Liberties, Fishtown, Interstate 95, and the Delaware River

Skyline from the east

Lincoln Financial Field

Rockstar Mayhem Festival at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden

Skyline from the southwest

Washington Square, Society Hill, and Queen Village neighborhoods, among others, and the Delaware River

The mirrored COmcast Center and the skyline from the north

Fairmount Park, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Boathouse Row, the Schuylkill River, and the skyline from the northwest

The St. James, and the skyline from the east-southeast

From the south

Skyline from the south

Susquehanna Bank Center

Philadelphia Museum of Art and skyline from the northwest

Sunoco Refinery and Platt Bridge

Skyline from the southwest

Route 1 crossing the Schuylkill River

Loews Philadelphia Hotel

Rowhomes of South Philadelphia

Lincoln Financial Field

Logan Square and the skyline from the north

City Hall from the north

South Philadelphia including the Pennsport neighborhood

Eastern State Penitentiary

USS New Jersey, Camden's Delaware River waterfront, and the Ben Franklin Bridge

Skyline from the west

Skyline from the south

Rail tracks northwest of 30th Street Station

Just before landing: Delaware River, the Dockside, and the skyline from the east

Camden City Hall (371 ft), the tallest building in the Philadelphia suburbs

Crown of the Comcast Center

Skyline from the east

Delaware River and the Ben Franklin Bridge in front of Waterfront Square

Skyline from the northwest

Above midtown

A plane descends over the Delaware River

Philadelphia Museum of Art, Boat House Row, and the Fairmount Waterworks

Skyline from the west

Watching us land

Within the skyline, looking west

Lincoln Financial Field, Citizens Bank Park, and the skyline from the south

Two other helicopters over Camden, and the Ben Franklin Bridge

Perfect angle of the skyline, from the southwest

... and here's where she said "Yes"

Thanks for viewing and hope you enjoyed this piece of what will always be one of the most amazing experiences of my life.

One of America's underrated cities, especially for how large it is! Thanks for sharing these excellent shots.
