The optical idea is nice, although that looks more like window dressing, as in: hiding a blank wall.

Although they aren't for permanent living, they are still very lively I can tell you. When I walked by last year the doors were open showing a big party with people on the balcony. If that ain't lively, I don't know what is.

Time to add a few Hong Kong terms to the dictionary. First up: the Podium and Towers Estates, or: the powerblock.

If the first thing you utter after you enter through the front door is "wow", then that's probably because of the wow view.

When you think of it it's odd that there isn't a proper term for skyscraper residents. Now there is.

^ Good one. There is a term for a pleasant contrasting architecture of singular buildings, which is the term bontrast but one could think of a term for skylines as well. I'll keep it in mind!

Verticopolis is a term to celebrate some of the wild and spectacular ideas some of the Japanese construction companies came up with in the 1980's and 1990's. Also comes with a modest One on One tournament.

Try 2004:

SternScraper or Retroscraper: postmodern towers which are inspired by early twentieth century buildings. Most notable (the tallest) are the designs of Robert AM Stern.
