Romanesque Architecture

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romanesque_architecture

Romanesque architecture is an architectural style of Medieval Europe characterized by semi-circular arches. There is no consensus for the beginning date of the Romanesque architecture, with proposals ranging from the 6th to the 10th century. It developed in the 12th century into the Gothic style, characterised by pointed arches. Examples of Romanesque architecture can be found across the continent, making it the first pan-European architectural style since Imperial Roman Architecture. The Romanesque style in England is traditionally referred to as Norman architecture.

Saint-Étienne in Caen:

It's a former Benedictine abbey and it's considered to be one of the most important Romanesque buildings in France. The abbey was donated by William the Conquerer and served also as his gravesite.

Basilica of Saint Nicholas, Bari (1087-1197)

Probably the Shrine of the most important single Saint of Early Christianity outside the circle of Jesus Christ and the Apostles in both East and West.

Most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference. It looks 500 years old.

1. It doesn't matter what most people can tell
2. It doesn't look like it is 500 years old
3. 500 years ago romanesque style in most places was long gone

Romanesque style (just like gothic) was like a book. Besides spiritual and symbolical meaning those styles were kind of reflection of what people could archieve in those times.
Neo styles are just romantic (industrial era) expression of people's longing after those times. Nothing more.
I hope you will understand the difference now and will stop post stuff that is not appropriate.

Ah, and one more thing - you can easily say if building is original or neo in case of like ~95% of them. One glance is ususally enough.

Kaiserdom - Speyer Cathedral, Speyer, Germany
Construction began in 1030 and was completed ~100 years later. It is the world's largest intact Romanesque church.
