I went through this thread and I am shocked. The development is amazing. Seems like one new tower per day.

This is approximately the rate indeed...

However, I wonder how they gonna do for the elevators

Magnificent! A lot of the towers in Dubai are a bit over the top imho, but this one is simply class! I love it!
As for the elevators, I don't think it's that twisty. I think it has a straight core in the middle

There's a reason for this. Next week there'll be a massive convention called cityscape where people launch projects. showcase them, etc. That's where loads of models will be displayed so that's why so many are being released now. It's the buildup.

the lift core can only be vertical. The buiding floor plates move around the core so at the bottom for example the majority of the floor plate would be to say the left of the core (when looking in elevation) and as the building rises it moves to the right, then back to the left then to the right whilst getting smaller towards the top to create the crown .
Nothing earth shattering here and its been done before (think twisting towers) as the core stays the same not twisting either

Not quite, I actually like them. I don't like the spiky corners at the bottom though, and I wish the top had a smoother finish, but nevertheless it is a great project.

What the hell are they building for? Who wants to live there? What company will set in this desert? Are they building towers to leave them empty?
