Holy *** SH*T WOW and WOW!
I knew there was much going on in Dubai but this is out of this world.

How many skyscrapers will there be in total? A few 1000? This forum has to be 10 times bigger if we want to list all the single projects!

Seems to be a lot of fun eh

It's just insane... They seriously don't know where to stop. Who's going to live there and who's going to visit as a tourist? There just isn't enough wealthy population around on earth. And even if...not all have such bad taste to go to Dubai. This all will NEVER pay up!

Not everyone can have the privilege of living in a town who's synonym with architectural originality, starting with the Goverment buildings.

If the terrain is very bad you sink, you don't drown.

Most of that stuff won't be built though.
I'm not saying they aren't real projects but well, Dubai's debt is twice its GDP.

OMG......those attraction parks look awesome!

1- Is there a map of Dubai with all these projects included? So that you can see how Dubai will look in (?) 50 years??

2- And, how many inhabitans will Dubai have in, let's say, 10 years from now?

3- Are there already negative effects of the Credit Crunch in Dubai?

Dubai Waterfront Sees The Atrium Approved.
Published on 25-11-2008 by Skyscrapernews.com

A new residential tower set to be located on Dubai's prestigious Waterfront has been given approval called The Atrium.

Designed by American based architects Pickard Chiltern the tower will stand at 278 metres and have 68 floors above ground with a further 3 levels of parking below, dimensions that are somewhat restrained by Dubain standards.

The design of the tower is somewhat unusual at its base. It rises from a shared podium as two separate towers and approximately halfway up moulds into a single, arching tower.

The arching upper part of the tower seems to sheath the lower legs of the tower and puts you in mind of the little badge people in Star Trek wear and talk into. It's this shape that is the main focal point of the design.

Featuring the usual glass cladding found in today's modern builds, a small section of the fašade on the upper part of the tower has been picked out it a pale blue glaze around the balconies that appear like a serrated spine running vertically up centre of the tower.

Apart from stunning views of the Arabian coast, residents at the luxury towers will also have access to top notch facilities such as spa and Jacuzzi, gymnasium, swimming pools, coffee shops, restaurants and some shopping therapy space, as well as a residents only cinema.

In addition there will also be an internal fully landscaped winter garden for residents to go and relax in away from the extremes of the desert climate.

Apartments will range from one to five bedrooms, all will be lavishly decorated and have the latest in mod cons. There will also be one penthouse suite.

Although work is yet to start on the tower it is expected to be ready for occupation in 2013.
