Suites in the SKAI

Suites in the SKAI comes alive with pioneering design principles that redefine 21st century living. Conceptualised by Nabil Akiki, CEO, Real Estate Development, the project is a unique design-led innovation with a pending global patent.

489,230 square feet of landscaping creates a greenery to land ratio of 7:1. A total of 268 swimming pools combine to produce a water surface area of two acres, and deep soil beds in every apartment allow trees to grow at 873 feet. The huge frontage, larger than a luxury villa, bestows 200-degree views stretching from Jebel Ali to Downtown Dubai.

As pioneers of the hospitality condo hotel segment, Suites in the SKAI offers a ‘flexible room and home ownership’ programme within a booming industry in a landmark development.

PROJECT: La Mer (Jumeirah)

Conceptualized to integrate a minimalist and contemporary design, La Mer’s pristine location will ensure uninterrupted views of the Arabian Gulf and Dubai’s iconic skyline. The development will spread across 9.5 million square feet of existing and reclaimed land. Comprising four distinct zones – the beach, a leisure and entertainment hub, North Island, and South Island – ‘La Mer’ will feature commercial, leisure, residential and hospitality components.

The announcement was made at Cityscape Global 2014, the region’s leading real estate event running from September 21-23 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Abdulla Al Habbai, Group Chairman, Meraas Holding, said: “Meraas Holding is committed to play a vital role in developing key Dubai entertainment and touristic projects in line with Dubai’s Tourism Vision 2020, which under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, sets the guidelines for Dubai to attract 20 million in 2020 by being the preferred tourist destination.. Our feasibility studies have confirmed that La Mer will be one on the projects which will positively contribute to Dubai’s economy and set new global benchmarks for beachfront developments.

“The project will innovatively combine upscale living with distinctive retail and leisure attractions, an integrated outdoor living environment and engaging beach activities. La Mer will emerge as a world-class destination in the heart of Jumeirah.”

On North Island and South Island, La Mer will include fully integrated residential neighborhoods that comprise a total of 688 apartments and villas as well as a 160-key hotel to meet the expected influx of tourists. The project will also launch a range of retail and F&B concepts, some of which will mark their foray into Dubai.

Centrally located, the core value of the project is its leisure and entertainment hub that adds a whole new dimension through its offerings that focus on water play, beach sports in addition to skate boarding, outside gymnasia and youth activities. As part of its leisure and entertainment component, the project will additionally include two marinas for yachts, and a park.

The existing beaches are to be redeveloped in order to offer improved high quality beach amenities to Dubai’s resident community and visitors. Meraas Holding is a Dubai-based real estate company with operations and assets in the UAE and overseas. The company operates with a mission to create integrated master-planned communities that embody global standards of sustainability and quality.

Meraas reveals blueprint for $2.7bn Dubai Parks & Resorts project

Dubai-based developer Meraas Holding on Sunday unveiled the blueprint for its Dubai Parks & Resorts project that is set to take shape in Jebel Ali from 2016.
The first phase of the project will comprise three theme parks - Motiongate Dubai, Bollywood Parks Dubai, and LEGOLAND Dubai, Meraas announced in a statement.
The development will also feature Riverpark – a grand entrance plaza and Lapita, a family themed hotel. The first phase is scheduled for completion in 2016 with ground work starting in February.
The project, which aims to help Dubai reach its target of attracting 20 million tourists by 2020 and was first announced in 2012, will cost AED10 billion to build.

PROJECT: AL BERWAZ TOWER AKA DUBAI FRAME, 150M (ZABEEL PARK)

The Dubai Municipality announced on Wednesday that it will start construction-work on the iconic Dubai Frame project adjacent to the Stargate theme park in Zabeel Park next month. The Director-General of the Dubai Municipality, Hussain Nasser Lootah, said: “We have opened tenders and will be giving the assignment to the apt contractor according to our plan.”

The implementation of the Dh120 million project, a window-shaped structure that will give panoramic views of old and new Dubai from a 150 feet-high glass bridge, was ordered in July 2012 with a plan to complete it by this year end. In May this year, the municipality said the project would be completed by the end of 2014.

However, the civic body on Wednesday said the unique structure was expected to be ready by the second half of 2015, after a one-year delay from the last announcement made six months ago. In the latest statement, the municipality also gave the exact location of the tower at Zabeel Park. Lootah said the Dubai Municipality conducted extensive studies and research to identify the most ideal location for the project. “It was after an (intense) study and extensive consultation that the (location) was decided — near the Stargate of Zabeel Park — which is a famous point for visitors and tourists,” he said in a media statement.

Stargate, an edutainment theme park, is located near the Gate 4 of Zabeel Park in the heart of Dubai. The image released by the Dubai Municipality on Wednesday showed the tower with transparent glass walls in dusk bronze colour.
