That too. I was researching on Wiki and other aviation threads on Trijets, and the Trident is the only one left. But, question: do you think it is a relevant aircraft today worth discussing? I mean, yes, it may be a tri-engine jet, but, I don't even know if any of that type is still operational today.

The last few Tridents were retired in the early 1990s (in China, I do believe), so there's none left flying today.

I recall that CAAC (the predecessor to Air China) operated a few of those Trident aircraft...

The Trident is particularly significant as it was the 1st three-engined airliner to fly in January 1962, over a year before the 727 (February 1963). Due to a government drive to rationalize the British aircraft industry and the resulting corporate moves and government interventions, it ended up entering service exactly 2 months after the 727 (1st February 1964 - 727/1st April 1964 - Trident).

Indeed. However, I rode on a B747 which carried the final Northwest Airlines livery before those were handed over to Delta as a result of consolidation. Yet, yes, I really that livery myself.

That particular aircraft is now stored at Fujairah International Airport, after serving with American Trans Air/ATA Airlines & RollinsAir.
