Zagreb airport received the AN−225 for the first time. Arrival of the world’s largest aircraft attracted the attention of thousands of people who came to the airport to see the loading process.

Landing of the airplane in Cebu airport required close study beforehand and coordination of special procedures and the crew actions with the administration of the airport and aviation authorities of the Philippines.

Before the aircraft departed from Zagreb, Hayan typhoon hit the Philippines, its epicenter passing over Cebu. Nevertheless, the authorities had time to resume work at the airport before the planned arrival of the airplane, and the AN−225 successfully delivered its cargo to the point of destination.

This transportation proved once again Antonov Airlines’ leading position in the world market of oversized cargoes airlift and the company’s slogan: “No other name carries more weight”.

ANTONOV−158 completed tests in high mountains

On November 21, 2013 the AN−158 regional jet completed tests on high− level airdromes of Latin America. The ground and flight tests confirming possibility of operation of the AN−158 family in conditions of high mountains with basing on airdromes situated on 4000m above sea level were performed within the limits of this program in full volume.

Tests were carried out in airports of Latakunga, Ecuador (2800m above sea level) and La Pas, Bolivia (4000m above sea level).

At present, specialists of ANTONOV Company prepare documentation for obtaining correspondent supplements to the type certificate of this airplane.

It will allow considerably widening geography of operation of the airplanes of the AN−148/AN−158, including Latin America. Air carriers from countries of the region including Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Nicaragua and Cuba expressed their intention to purchase about 50 such machines.

For the inquiry: The family of the AN−148 and AN−158 regional jets of a new generation is being effectively operated on the regional routs of the different countries, in a wide spectrum of the climatic conditions. They work well both from runways of the best airports of Europe and from RW with bad quality of pavement.

Last An-124 was produced 9 years ago. Now there some talks to resume production, but those are still only talks. Despite this, there is undergoing program of modernizing An-124. It includes increased weigh capacity, new avionics, glass cockpit, noise reduction chevrons on engines and etc.

Regrading other Antonov's cargo planes, An-74 and An-32 (including their modifications) are still being build or modernized. There is also plan for cargo version of An-140.

With respect to military cargo, An-70 program was renewed this year and first flight for An-178 (part of An-148/158 family) is scheduled in 2014.

The occasion marks the seventh time the enormous cargo plane has landed at Shijiazhuang Zhengding International Airport since 2006. The airport is the only one in the country approved to land the AN-225 by the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

"We (the airport and Antonov) have established a good relationship through the flight," said Qin Guoqiang, manager of international freight at the airport.

"Now we plan to further our cooperation by inviting the plane to stay at our airport when it's not transporting cargo."

Qin said he is confident the plane will be useful for China as international exports — especially those of heavy equipment — continue to boom.

The two tramcars were built in Tangshan, Hebei province, a city known for its manufacturing industry.

The electric-powered streetcars can be used for at least 30 years without discharging emissions, making the cars the first Chinese-built, energy-efficient tramcar to be exported by air to the European market.

"It shows that Hebei is transitioning from light industrial products, such as clothes, to high value-added products," Qin said.

"The closer cooperation between the airport and the cargo company will fuel this type of growth."
