This is the trailer for a documentary film about N-VI (Madrid-A Coruña) in Spain.
If you are really interested about former trunk roads, you surely need to watch the full film.

Part of former E30 road in Poland serves as helipad/runway (for small planes).

Anyway, Krosniewice is a suitable name for the junction of polish national roads No. 1 and 2.

That reminds me of an old section of H27 in Switzerland used for model airplanes:

I can mention italian SS13 from Venezia to Tarvisio. Before completing autostrada A23 (E55) in 1988 it was one of the main transport links between Northeast Italy and central europe (italy/Austria border crossing near Tarvisio). Nowadays it can be considered a regional trunk road. After 2003 floods in Carnia region, some road sections were rebuilt due to road collapse in Fella river. Also built a nice New tunnel near Coccau. Intersting along the road seeing rests of homonymous abandoned railway "Pontebbana" built in 1870s (if i'm correct) and rests of bunkers of World War I, carved into the rock. I will took some photos when i will be there.

You can understand the declining importance of Old Bridge in Bratislava here

Comparison of aerial images of Bratislava in 1944 and 2013.

Some former trunk roads in Latvia:

Aizsaules street through a cemetery in Rīga was basically a trunk road until just less than 5 years ago a tarmacked 4 lane road was built nearby

Maskavas street in Rīga was the main road to Daugavpils and Moscow. Then many other roads and intersections were built to the point that now only the tram can more or less follow the street for all it's length

Eksporta street in Rīga is quite an interesting one because it is not only a former trunk road but it's going to be one yet again! So I don't really see the point of the current main road if it's going to be demolished in favor of the old one.
1937
The old Sigulda highway Lorupes grava crossing - a postcard image almost a hundred years ago. Still beloved today.
1950ies
1998

2011
The new bridge, built in the 1968, can be seen on the right. Actually it was originally planned to be a dual carriageway but due to some reasons they "forgot" to build it. Current future plans still include the building of the second carriageway.

The new bridge - highest in the country

The old Jelgava highway. It was the first road in Latvia to have a tarmac surface - in 1927. When widening to a dual carriageway they chose to build a separate road in some places so to not make unnecessary railway crossings. Some level crossings on the old road were closed so now the old road is very fragmented.
You can see the new road on the right

A2, Netherlands

On the left is the former trunk road #2 in the Netherlands, just south of Vught. It was a 2x2 divided highway, but not a motorway. The motorway on the right was completed in 1996 and widened to 2x3 lanes in 2013.

N-II in Barcelona province in Spain. This particular stretch was replaced by a motorway in the early 2000s and since then it has virtually no traffic, but its layout has mostly been kept:
