Now...

and the competition will end this year late autumn/ fall.

The ground-breaking ceremony should be at the end of this year.

Kollhoff now also wants to take part of the competition.

Hines wants to build an higher highrise...

I think there is no problem, also with the view from Otto-Braunstraße and Karl-Marx-Allee there ist nothing against an higher highrise, the TV-Tower still in view from both streets:

That's great news! Berlin needs some tall skyscrapers to go along with the Fernsehturm.

The end of the year is already gone.
Has there been a winner?

I like how Berlin´s highrises sprawl throughout every part of the City.
There are different concept, som cities Profit more from one dense, main Cluster - others, like Berlin, from something else.

Imagine in some future, looking from either Alexanderplatz or from City west in the direction of the other, with the highrises at Potzdamer platz half way between. It gives a sense of expansiveness and scope, even if the number of highrises is limited.

The next ten years will be exciting, at any rate since the Hines Tower, the Square & the Estrel Tower all seem likely to get realized, with the entire City west development, a possible third highrise next to Zoofenster and Upper west, the highrise at Hauptbahnhof and Sonae-Turm at Alex as further possibilities.

planned city crown

http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1605520
I recently read that the City crown as a whole will likely never be realized. This, I guess, will evoce mixed Feelings.
The reason, at any rate, is that many of the commie blocks imagined easily torn down has been renovated Amid lacking concrete and economically backed proposals.
In the foreseeable future, thus, only the Hines and MAYBE the Sonae-Turm will get build at Alex.

The GRAFT proposal is hideous. It's that kind of tacky architecture which is ruining Europe, and more recently has surfaced in the U. S. and Japan.
