This photo appears in the historical documentary: "Laura Woodward: Visionary Artist" and was used as a comparison shot with a painting of hers from the same perspective in the late 1800s.

Thanks, TB! I love doing aerial shoots, just getting warmed up here. Since I've made this a retrospect thread, I going roughly in chronological order, so the best is yet to come with more experience and better equipment. You ain't seen nothin' yet.

This was my second shoot from the Miami Tower (August 15, 2008). This first photo is one of the two that became one my first published photographs.

This is what happened the first time I shot from the Miami tower (August 14, 2008) the day before. Here I am on the roof of a skyscraper in a thunderstorm.

I must have shot from the roof of the Miami tower 7 times before the rules changed with a new property manager. Now they charge some ridiculous fee to shoot from there. I only want to update Brickell CityCentre from there anyway and Wells Fargo with the sign. It wasn't on the last time I was up.

TB, I was up there for a good hour, but not much more from that particular shoot worth posting. I'm a pretty gutsy urban/architectural photographer when it comes to getting the shot. I was on a mission and I was not going to be stopped. I never imagiined taking this as far as I did, and there's much more, but now, I've gotta hit the sack.

This set was taken 09/24/09. This is not an aerial. I'm on the roof of the Wells Fargo Center while it's still under construction. The project manager was impressed enough with my photography work to afford me this privilege. This perspective is no longer possible because there is now a glass curtain wall here.

this was my first aerial shoot with the Nikon D5000 and I booked Miami Seaplane's FK9 to do it. The FK9 is a light plane, sort of a cross between a Cessna and an ultralight. It only seats two people like the ultralight, you and the pilot side-by-sde, but you have the safety of a cockpit and you can take the doors off. I got my best aerial shots from the FK9 because I didn't have ultralight cables in the way, and I could stick my head out of the door to get the best angles. I hate the Cessna 172 for aerials because it's so cramped and I can't take the doors off and I have to shoot through the window. Unfortunately, it's all Miami Seaplane flies now. I don't know why.

The southeast coast of Florida is known as the Gold Coast. With so much coastline, this is how we different one part of the state from another, such as the First Coast being northeast Florida, with center of the east coast being the Space Coast. The panhandle coastline is know as the Emerald Coast, then south of that is the Treasure Coast. It has nothing to do with comparing this photo with Australia's Gold Coast. We have height restrictions there.

Last Cessna Shoot! (01/06/2012)

Friends of Marine Stadium paid for this one so that I could work on the stadium.

Thanks, Christos! One last aerial shoot after this. Then, we wait for more skyline to be built.

This perspective I captured while doing some freelance work while the building was still under construction. Once the building was completed, I went back to try to capture this perspective with better lighting on a sunny day and it would look great at night, but the property manager ignores my requests.

This update of Brickell House under construction (524 feet) I took just last Saturday from the sky lobby of the Conrad Hotel, the other side of Espirito Santo.

I got this free helicopter ride to work on the marine stadium. That's it for aerials until I get more skyline to work with.
