Awesome pics. Just goes to show how Melbourne transformed form a shithole, to a beautiful city. OMG??? WAS THAT THE FIRST COMPLEMENT I'VE EVER GIVEN MELBOURNE?

Love the pic with Rialto U/C. That's rare.

Actually Melbourne has turned from a beautiful city to a shithole and then back to a beautiful city again over the past 50 years :-)

What a wonderful essay on the city's development Collector. Excuse my non-contribution of late everyone - got deeply involved in a heavy project that has completely taken me out of the game, and will for some time.

But still checking in every now and then, and this makes it worthwhile. cheers bronte

In 20 years it will be unrecognisable again

take a look at the change in the 30 yrs between 1975 and now and just imagine what it will look like in another 30 years when a semi retired "the collector" posts the pics from his 140th floor apartment on City Road...

Great pics! I would have liked to have known the dates of the earlier ones, like the 40s, 50s etc.
