If you've ever lived in a flatter than flat plain with no trees where the only high points are your house, trees around your house and associated aerials and power poles it's like living on a lightning rod - you become nervous. But yeah storms are amazing.

It's been very quiet in west Europe in terms of storms this year. probably due to the cold spring weather. So no decent pics to show at the moment.
Coming 2/3 days we should have more luck.

F5 Tornado touching down in Elie, Manitoba (Canada)

If you're wondering, the people filming are likely Amish or Mennonite and speaking a German dialect.

Just wicked how that twister was just moving around in that town. Must have been scary minutes.

It was listed as the most powerful tornado ever recorded in Canada. We get about 100 tornadoes a year with most occurring on the southern prairie and southwestern Ontario.

Its small size makes one think it's not that strong, but it lifted entire houses clean into the air.
Its circulation is also much wider than the funnel itself, clearly visible in the debris cloud.
Very spectacular footage.

A bit off topic, but I love this building on the left.
