Ullevålsveien 114

Facts | Architects: Hille Melbye | Location

Ullevålsveien 114

A nine story apartment building proposed in Oslo west. There will be retail in first floor along the street. The facade will consist of different shaped extruding balconies.

No proper renders are available so far, but the facade is said to be inspired by this building in Copenhagen among other things ... So it will hopefully end up equally as successful.

St Olavs Gate 24

Facts |Architects: MAP | Location

St Olavs Gate 24

A small infill that was just completed in central Oslo. My impression:

The two floors in the middle looks rather nice. The fourth floor looks like a afterthought. It really should have gotten the same wooden window frames the two floors beneath. First floor looks rather cheap - the tiles looks very dated. Overall okay.

New Tryvann Tower Proposal

This is more of a vision really, but there are plans to do something about the old tower and this vision have circulated around in the media, so perhaps it might result in something.

Facts | Architects: MAD | Location

New Tryvann Tower Proposal

With a unique, prominent position in the urban landscape of Oslo, the Tryvann Tower is an existing TV transmission tower high up on the forested hills surrounding the city. Launching the idea of developing a new Tryvann Tower, MAD Arkitekter envisioned a tower with an elegant and bold design, placed in the same position as today’s tower. The new Tryvann Tower would be both higher and more spacious, giving increased room for a public program

Tryvann Tower timeline:

First Tryvann Tower: 1867
Second Tryvann Tower: 1883
Third Tryvann Tower: 1934, 18,5 m high
Todays Tryvann Tower: 1962, 118 m high
New Tryvann Tower (this proposal): Complete 2020, 150 m high

That tower could be quite a stunner if the cladding is good.

Filipstad

As part of the Fjordcity plans, Filipstad will be (partly) transformed into an extension of the inner city. It will still be the hub for the Germany ferries, though, and most likely also some other cruise traffic. Eitherway, it is decided that Filipstad will include:

•between 2 250 - 3 000 appartments
•about 9 000 workplaces
•totaly 100 ha public space, of which a central park on 50 ha and a harbour promenade along the shoreline
•max volume 450 000 sqm new constructions (exploitation ~140%).

Proposal made by CIVITAS, LPO and Spacegroup for Oslo Havn, HAV eiendom and ROM eiendom, for a general masterplan. No final designs of the buildings have been presented yet.

All illustrations by Diiz
Filipstad are now out on hearing. Here are some pictures from how our planning authorities foresee the development. The landowner have a slightly different plan though, but it is generally the same. The biggest difference being that the owners also want to include a highrise at the tip towards Oslofjorden.

The planning document can be seen here (Norwegian only): https://docs.google.com/viewer?docex...lse_skjerm.pdf

Ensjø 17 story tower

Facts | Location

Ensjø 17 story tower

A proposal to build a 17 story apartment tower over the metro entrance at Ensjø. This will be located right next to the earlier shown Ensjøveien 17. I do not have much information about it yet, so I will update this post with further info later on.

A mixed-use development at Majorstuen, Oslo. The development will contain shopping towards Valkyerigata, a small infill in the backyard of the block and a residential infill towards Ole Vigs gate. The historic 19th century buildings towards Valkyriegata will be restored.

It's currently awaiting approval from the muni.

Lundsjordet masterplan

I originally posted it in Norway construction tread, but in hindsight I realize that it actually belongs here:

Facts | Location

Lundsjordet masterplan

A proposal to build a few urban-ish blocks and a 60 meter high tower at the field next to Eidsvoll Verk train station, not far from Oslo airport Gardemoen. The area currently consist of few detached suburban houses surrounded by endless forests and fields, so this will be a huge change.

Koksa

Facts | Architects: Code | Location

Koksa

A housing project at Fornebu. I can't say I like it. It reminds of a fancier take '60s suburbia with its lack of urbanity and human scale. But is large and pointy, so perhaps others like it?

I really love it The buildings are not that big, so I think the proportions and scale are still manageable. They need to sell the appartments for a decent price tho, if you turn them in to cheap social housing disaster will strike. I like how the whole area is pedestrian friendly and there is plenty of room for social interaction. I'm pretty confident it will work out allright

There is no danger that the apartments will be cheap. Bærum, where it is located, is Norway richest muni and these apartments will be located right next to the shoreline, and will no doubt we priced accordingly. What remains to be seen though is how well the value maintains itself over time. I can't help but feel that it will not become a very desirable place to live when the "newness" is gone. This kind of planning tend to combine the worst aspect of cities and suburbia if you ask me.

Right, I'm a bit sceptical about this one as well, but these are only render and none of us knows how it will look like in real life. The buildings individually are pretty good imo. But I don't like the urban planning that much. They should get rid of the rows, (maybe even walls) of buildings. Instead, I prefer an urban enviromnent to have some sort of central area, like a parc or square or even some sort of cultural center, retail, etc, with the building around it. In the worst case scenario we will end up with a gritty and windy urban envirioment, with low quality flats all packed together on the size of poststamp. But hey, I'm an optimist, It has a good chance to work out okay. If, like you said, the appartment are sold for decent price, we can have a decent and fancy little neighborhood, I think

Some elevations of this development. They may be subject to later changes of course. It's currently going through the political process for approval.
