Cool. At least in America they complete the skyscraper projects, not like here, in Hungary...

It appears the shorter tower has the same water tank wind/seismic motion damping system that the taller tower has.

Anyway, thanks andr1 (I assume you are "Andrei" the photographer). PLEASE keep posting pictures of SF's under construction buildings for us.

The visuals of the buildings do a nice job for the SF skyline, but the location is the worst for anyone buying or renting. The original tower was nearly inaccessible by pedestrians. Utterly horrible. And cut off by the barrier of the Bay Bridge and busy streets. The second tower indicates SF needs housing space...no matter where it is.

The intent of the Planning Department is to create on and around Rincon Hill a new neighborhood whose "shopping street" will be Folsom, a block away. Unfortunately, they have left the critical street for last. When Transbay blocks 6, 8 and 9 and 201 Folsom are built there should be a lot more to walk to in the neighborhood.

And another Planning goal has been to put the tallest buildings on hills in order to emphasize rather than obliterate the natural topography. That's means the top of Rincon Hill needed tall thin towers like these--very much like them if not them.

Hmmm. But as you said on another thread "that one block makes a huge difference" for San Francisco neighborhoods.

My point was that the mega-traffic Harrison Street speedway and the approach ramps to the Bay Bridge make this building nearly impossible to access walking. It doesn't matter that Folsom, a long block away, may ultimately have shopping; you can't get there on foot with any amount of ease or safety.

All I can tell you is I've walked around that neighborhood and the only problem I've encountered was that I'm getting old and the driveway and pedestrian entrance to ORH Tower 1 is up a nice little incline--would get me winded walking the dog.

Here's what the Planning Dept. says (in the documents for 325 Fremont) Rincon Hill will soon look like with this building and the others (all but 2--325 Fremont and 340 Fremont under construction):

Here will be the view looking down Fremont from in front of ORH Tower 2:

And these renderings for some reason don't include all the new buildings on Folsom: Lumina, 299 Fremont, TransBay blocks 5, 8, 9
And they don't include 181 Fremont or the Transbay Tower.

Nice looking towers. They look taller than what they really are...

That's because they're on a 100 foot hill, skinny, and have neighbors that are much shorter...though that'll change soon.
