Yes you are thinking of the world famous spa town of Marienbad - Mariánské Lázně in the Czech Republic.

Ołdrzychowice Kłodzkie, another village on the Biała Lądecka river and the road to the spa.

Countess von Oppersdorf sold her manor to the Franciscan Sisters in 1929. It continues today as the Polish Motherhouse.

Charming and attractive city. The architecture seems to have an Austrian flavor.

Project Silesia

Robert Gabel sent me an e-mail few days ago saying that Project Silesia on FTDNA has just started:

LINK:

https://www.familytreedna.com/groups...chlesien/about

[ENG] The Project Silesia (Śląsk, Schlesien) aims to explore the rich genetic heritage of Silesians and their descendants. For many centuries, Silesia has been a very diverse region both ethnically and culturally. Your Silesian ancestors could belong to many different groups, including Poles, Ashkenazi Jews, Czechs or Germans. If your ancestors hail from Silesia, we would like to invite you to join our project to help us untangle the beautiful genetic history of this region.

Obiekt znany.

Dlatego swoją skromną osobę skierowałem do dobrze znanego wszystkim, pięknie odnowionego Pałacu w Krzyżowicach. To jeden z nielicznych tak ładnie zadbanych założeń pałacowo-folwarcznych w regionie. A okolica bogata w zabytki i niezwykle malownicza!
