New Orleans in March 2013

In March I was in New Orleans.
On my blog there is an article about the houses in the French Quarter:

But I also made some Skyscraper pictures:

nice city. I'm deciding between this and San Francisco to visit this summer.
Just a quick question: how safe is the city nowaday specially during night time?

I was in a Hotel in the French Quarter and didn't have any problems, but I heard on the TV that during the time I was there a tourist was beaten quite badly. I guess if you look out it is safe.

Personaly I would visit first San Francisco and then New Orleans, as a European San Francisco was more different from Europe than New Orleans.

Okay, then I would definitely go to New Orleans, I also think New Orleans is more than just the French Quarter.
Also the food there is really great: http://www.travelita.ch/en/delicious-new-orleans/

The French Quarter is perfectly safe When visiting New Orleans remember to stay in the touristy areas, they have heavy security. Usually when you hear stories of visitors being attacked (usually foreign too) they are naive about crime in the city and want to explore the "real New Orleans" and wind up a victim of crime.

Well the "real" parts of the city are run-down and unattractive. You will get nothing out of it, so stay in the pretty parts

Thank you for the great feedback, right now I am writing on an article about the Garden District with a lot of pictures. I will post the article, as soon as I am done.

First time commenting on your collection after a few visits, and I'm very pleased with your showcase with some of NOLA's great-looking towers and unique sculptures found at the Sculpture Garden. It may be small for now, but I can see a great potential to make this a wonderful photo collection (even though I know it may be short)... and that sculpture of a ladder towards a window reminds me of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina that struck the city in 2005, in which that serves as a reminder of what Mother Nature can do to communities like New Orleans.

Splendid collection, welcome to SSC, and I'm looking forward to even more collections and photos from you!

Go to San Francisco again, if you want... there's the America's Cup from July to August if you're into sailing, and it isn't as oppressively hot as in the South (I don't know, though, if NOLA is hot during the summer).
