Well, if that's not a great way to start a thread, what is?

Nice. Do you intend to make this a projects & urban talk or a mere photo thread? If the latter's the case, we'd better move it to the international gallery.

Although there are many projects being realised both in Stockholm and whole the country, I would like this thread to be a photo presentation of the city. It can be moved to the the international gallery. Thank you for the nice comments.

Bitte mehr Fotos, beginnt sehr vielversprechend
Hast Du bspw.
Also, alles was damit zutun hätte, würde mich sehr interessieren.

It looks like a really small city I have to say. Maybe because it's so spread out?

The central parts of Stockholm are densely populated. However, overall, the city is spread out, mainly, due to the natural factors and sophisticated urban development. It is true that almost 1/3 of the city consist of water, 1/3 of greenery and 1/3 - urban areas. The one is never too far from a park or water source in this city.

The Drottningholm Palace (Drottningholms slott) is the private residence of the Swedish royal family. It is located in Drottningholm, built on the island Lovön (in Ekerö Municipality of Stockholm County), and is one of Sweden's Royal Palaces

the ship seen in the picture is a popular youth hostel, while the Slussen area is seen in the background. Slussen (the Sluice) is an area of central Stockholm, on the Söderström river connecting Södermalm and Gamla stan. The area is named after the locks between Lake Mälaren and the Baltic Sea. The locks themselves allow passage between these two bodies of water (of different levels). Slussen also refers to the cloverleaf interchange and associated pedestrian passages and walkways created in 1935

the location of the city (located in many islands, where a large lake Mälaren flows into the Baltic Sea) is perfect for enjoying the views from numerous bridges and waterfronts. The rose building seen in the left corner of the picture is Münchenbryggeriet which is a public space nowadays

Fantastic photos! The Hotel Diplomat is such a wonderful building. When I saw it,
the awnings were open, which made these building even more perfect.

I also loved the Münchenbryggeriet (it's so obvious )
