From the campus almost no highrise in sight! Those places must be rare in NYC. Great shots!

Oh not at all, in big parts of the city you can hardly see any highrise buildings.

I am truly impressed with your tower shots, especially the black-and-white image... indeed, NYC is indeed a great place to practice black and white photography because many of its neighborhoods (especially in Manhattan) are classic places that many would really like to imagine history being remade if the city have been built differently (without those skyscrapers) to begin with. Plus, the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine is really marvelous, with all the architectural details, stained glass windows, statues, and a wide airy feel on the inside that make the church a really wonderful place to visit... and all the while you're still in Manhattan, one of the densest places (population-wise) on earth! Upper Manhattan indeed may have less skyscrapers than Midtown, but, I can see quite a lot of neatly-arranged (and compact) apartment blocks and small office buildings that may seem a little less overwhelming than those in Downtown and Midtown (especially, say, Fifth Avenue or Park Avenue or even 42nd Street). And Columbia University: what else can I say? Those structures look beautiful, especially one would think that it is located in a packed city in which land values are so high, one would imagine how much it would be per square foot to acquire such spaces and built something out of it!

Splendid snaps again, my friend! Keep those great images coming!

I love university campuses. Beautiful buildings, usually - and lots of lovely, lively, youthful energy.

Indeed Columbia is a very nice place and way undervisited by tourists. Plus you have St. John the Devine right there.

Plus, as a tourist you don't have to pay the $60,000 per year it costs to attend.

That was in my planning. We should visit Baltimore from DC, which seems to be very easy. But for several reasons we've didn't have time enough to finish all our plans and we skipped Baltimore. Unfortunately!
My wife promissed to visit Baltimore on our next visit to the US. Chicago, Boston, Philly and Baltimore are high on our next to-visit list.
But we did notice the Baltimore skyline from the Bolt Bus, crossing a huge bridge over the river...

Love that first picture in the last set - the cars/trains. Great shot & perspective.

Thanks, I had several taken from that perspective, but I think that one was the best.

I don't like those new taxi cars. I prefer older ones. Especially those from 70's to 90's

I agree, but I suppose the new ones are more comfortable and enviromental friendly.
