SPAIN's Official Credit Institute (ICO), representing the government of Spain and the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Ecuador has signed a funding agreement with CAF financing rolling stock, auxiliary vehicles, workshop tools and equipment, and parts for Quito's first metro line

The signing signifies the implementation of the contract awarded by the metropolitan municipality of Quito to CAF, for around $US 183m, and comprises the supply of 18 six-car trains

thanks for posting the news, I should tell that the two biggest stations are almost ready, Quito has serious traffic problems and this project will help a lot. by the way this CAF model it´s similar to this one it is operating in Bucharest, right?

METRO QUITO

The Metro workers begun a work recently in the historical city center below the square of the colonial church San Francisco (16th century), by the way sorry if I made a mistake, English is not my native language

ECUADOR: Quito Mayor Mauricio Rodas has visited Herrenknecht’s Schwanau plant in southern Germany to inspect the two tunnel boring machines that the company is supplying to work on the Quito metro. He was joined by officials from the Quito Metro and the Acciona-Odebrecht joint venture that is building the line.

The 9·36 m diameter earth pressure balance TBMs are due to arrive in Ecuador in spring 2017. Each has a drive power 2 750 kW and nominal torque of 21 035 kNm

Al parecer el armado de la tuneladora avanza rapido, yo pienso que va a estar lista antes de lo esperado, lo que me preocupa y según veo en el reporte mensual de avances es el retraso en la construcción de trenes no se tiene ningun avance conocido.
