Several Universities there,such as Shenyang University,Northeast Universiy,Liaoning University,etc..but not very famous in China

I didn't know Shenyang had a sort of "Forbidden City" of its own... What's its historical significance?

Do you know "Shengjing( 盛京 )", which was the base of Manchu before they controlled the whole China. When Qing dynasty was established, the Qing emperors must have rebuilt that place.

So far the tallest building is the TV tower, with a height of more than 300m from the top. And also there's a coupla skyscrapers under construcion which can reach a even height.

other than the second one, it should be Norheastern University which was founded in 1923 by General Chang Hsueh-liang, he is the former president who is also known as Zhang Xueliang (1898–2001, a Chinese warlord, son of Chang Tso-lin), and during his incumbency, this university was built into the best one in 1920-30s and now it is still in top 15 in graduate education, top 30 in undergraduate education, and one of the major educational and research centers in mainland china.

there are even following famous unversities in shenyang city.

China Medical University, which was the first medical university established by the Chinese Communist Party, is in top 5 of medical education in mainland china.

Shenyang Pharmaceutical University, which was established in 1931, is one of only two pharmaceutical universities in mainland china.

and Luxun Academy fo Fine Arts, Shenyang industrial University, Shenyang Institiute of Aeronautical Engineering, Shenyang Agricultural University, etc.

it should be called Shengjing Imperial Palace or Shenyang Imperial Palace ^_^, you can search it in google.com if you like.
