Bogotá is actually considered the best city to move around by bike and the city with more cyclist in Latin America.

The Bogotá mayor in the 90's followed the dutch system, the Netherlands government helped the mayor and other Colombians cities are now following

Fun fact: Bogotá celebrates every year Koninginnedag (now Koningsdag) as thanks to the dutch government.

That's looking good. Free cycle paths without interference of cars. That is attractive and safe.

Here are some more from my patch in the Bay Area... taken today:

San Rafael in Marin County

Berkeley in Alameda County. Around the UC Berkeley campus, certain walkways are off-limits to vehicles (except those golf carts owned by the UC) weekdays between 8am and 6pm.

And by the way, a little bonus... from Stanford University: (click on image below to watch video)

Hey guys, since it's a new forum I'm not going to be too picky about sourcing but in the future I'm going to be a bitch about not sourcing flickr photos... so be warned!

Hehehe well, all the Flickr and Photobucket images you see are from me, so we're pretty good. And I always indicate which collections I get my images from because I use both Photobucket and Flickr to store them. I've already asked another mod on that issue, so we're good.

We don't have bike lanes in my town (Arad, Romania), but yesterday we had a nice event called Skirt Bike. Here are some pics:

These maps are a couple of years out of date but they give a pretty good idea of the cycling infrastructure in my town. I'll take some photos too.

Yeah, it's not bad, but there is plenty of room for improvement still.

The town was one of around 10-12 that won some central government funding a few years ago to improve cycling infrastructure and I think it has definitely made a difference to the numbers of people you see cycling.

Installed on the site where the medival town wall used to be few centuries ago, it functions today as a park and a ring road for bicycles.

Maybe also give some information on the pictures you posted? I have no idea what I am looking at or where it is (yes, bicycle lanes somewhere in Japan, as far as I can figure out, but some more information would be nice ).

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA
Here is a video showing the recently completed "Cultural Trail" bike and pedestrian pathways that are located in downtown Indianapolis, IN USA. The pathways are separate from the streets and sometimes separate the bike portions from the walking portions. The Cultural Trail is about 8 miles long and generally encircles the core area of downtown and is located very close to pretty much all of the cultural venues of downtown - namely the many museums, performing arts theaters, sports venues, parks and other public plazas, markets and gathering places. It also goes right into the heart of the business, shopping and entertainment districts downtown and also connects to various entertainment areas on the outer edges of downtown. The Cultural Trail is the hub of the region's many additional bikeways and on-street bike lanes that come into the downtown area from all directions, using former railroad corridors and also running alongside rivers, streams and canals. Here is the video from Streetfilm:
