I have the same question, ¿what does a city has to do with a symbol of a religion or a name of a person like me for example? We know the Korea either follows Buddhism, Muism, Shintoism or Confucianism.

It's a fairly well known (I thought,) quote from John Lennon regarding the Beatles' popularity at the time. I thought it was applicable to Seoul as Seoul is indeed very big and also has a lot of Christian citizens (including the largest church in the World on Yeoeuido Island.) Just a flippant thread title, really. Cool?

I don't mind the quotation, but there are many religious fanatics that won't take this words very kindly. Mark my words more than one will criticize you for the poor choice of example.

Actually, there are more Koreans that are Christians than Buddhists.

As of 2005, just under half of the South Korean population expressed no religious preference. Of the rest, most are Buddhist or Christian. According to the 2007 census, 29.2% of the population at that time was Christian (18.3% professed to being Protestants and 10.9% Catholics), and 22.8% were Buddhist. Other religions include Islam and various new religious movements such as Jeungism, Cheondoism and Wonbuddhism. The earliest religion practiced was Korean shamanism.

Christianity is South Korea's largest religion, accounting for more than half of all South Korean religious adherents. There are approximately 13.7 million Christians in South Korea today, with almost two-thirds of Christians belonging to Protestant churches, while about 37% belong to the Catholic Church. Roman Catholicism has been the fastest growing denomination in South Korea since the late 1980s.South Korea is also the second-largest

Religions:
Christianity 49%,
Buddhism 47%,
Confucianism 3%,
pervasive folk religion (shamanism), Chondogyo (Religion of the Heavenly Way), and other 1%

Your writing is really good with reliable DATA.
However, in my opinion,(it's just in my opinion)
Confucianism is more like social system(convention) rather than a religion.
Because there is no God or any forms of church(temple) in confucianism and there is no life after death, which people only focus on current life.
It has widely spreaded out as a whole social system and rules of human relationship since Joseon Dynasty has estabilished in 1392.
Confunianism was the founding principle of a nation, which has became korean culture. So, my point is that confucianism has taken strong rooted within korean society, it's definately much more than 3%.
I think that Data of 2007 census is misleading in the wrong ways.

Also, korean shamanism has greatly affected korean buddhism,Chondogyo and even korean Christianity(heresy, cult) in many ways.

And the Koreans are very devoted. I noticed that during my last visit in South Korea, how piously they attend the holy mass.

I hope to see some good picstures here. Keep 'em coming.

Well... looks like it. I will try my best to update semi-regularly but a) I'm quite busy and b) I'm not a very good photographer. So for every acceptable shot I have to take 10 stinkers
