Exceptions from the FAR requirements can be given, so that shouldn't be a problem. 3 guyed masts got them

I like SHoP and SOM's visions the best. They would be something people would want to come to New York to see and experience.

They clearly say it's without the MDSG... It doesn't mean is only a vision.

The SOM proposal is absolutely mind boggling insane! Is it even possible to build something like that at the moment? I guess not....

I like the first proposal the most because of that gigantic megatall however I would like if they would decrease the number of the other supertalls and instead make the remaining ones at least as tall as 432 Park

SOM's proposal is just mindblowing too bad this area won't see a problem like this though.

I also like the second proposal very much, with the 4 identical 432 Park height towers. I always wanted the Twin Towers rebuilt and this would in fact, make two pairs of taller Twin Towers, which would be incredible

I've no doubt the City will preserve the Garden but I wish to high hades they would eliminate the sweetheart tax (or lackthereof) conditions granted to MSG and the Dolans. Complete ***holes of an owner that I'd pay to see pushed off one of those skyscrapers.

We never know what will happen in 15 years. As of now all west side is going to be a huge building hub with Hudson yards and etc. Once these huge project will take place - I am positive the city will go back to getting rid of MSG from the current place. I can't imagine getting all this new office and residential space and not upgrading the transportation to it. So in my mind 15 years is just a temporary stop to make sure that Western side transformation will take place. After... I'd hate to be on Dolan's place and show stubbornness.

An idea to build Garden on some piers outside Javits center is not such a bad idea. It was originally presented with NYC Olympic bid. We are going back to it - that is all.

I never thought it possible because of wasted air rights. But clearly that's not a concern. Rebuilding Penn Station seems to be less of an impossibility now.
You've got a point.
Just make a big head building on top to make sure that the station is paid for by the offices on top of it. Original mistake McKim, Mead & White made once they were designing the building and which turned out to be the reason for its downfall.

The Farley Post Office right across 8th Ave still makes much more sense to me. Converting it into the New Penn Station, Moynihan Station. The tracks of the current Penn run beneath it already. It's large enough to accommodate the LIRR, Jersey Transit and Amtrak. The project preserves the classic postal building and brings back the feel of the old station.

Why go thru the whole process of moving MSG. They own the land and on top of that this summer they are completing a 3 year, a 1 billion dollar+ renovation of the arena..it's state of the art now!

I'm all for supertalls around the immediate area and it's happening regardless with the hudson yards projects and possibly 15 penn in the near future. Keep MSG and go with the plan to convert the Farley post office into the New Penn Station
