The HY Facebook page has posted, in their words, "a 'curtain wall' mock-up of the shingled South Tower windows."

Wish they had taken a better photo! Can't tell much of anything here.

Yeah, all I've found is these photos at low resolution. Maybe it indicates that they're getting a jump on being prepared for the topping next September.

How's the construction activity today?

Flickr's hardcoreshutterbug posted more photo of the Hudson Yards area recently, this time taken with a real camera. This photo is from the ESB (w/ optical zoom) and shows some of the Coach Tower site AND how many cranes there are around the area. It also indicates they are doing something in the Farley PO's 33rd st moat at the 9th Ave. end.

I ASSUME the construction equipment you mentioned west of 11th ave is probably mobilization for the next phases of tunnel box construction.
PS: I notice they placed the blue north-south gantry on top of the BIG yellow east-west gantry @ the Manhattan West site:

Impressive shot - which one(s)

Which shot(s)? If you like the shot from the Empire State Building observation deck, thank flickr's hardcoreshutterbug, who apparently is a MTA/LIRR worker.
He spends part of his work time in the West Side Yard, which is in the process of being partly decked over by the eastern phase of the Hudson Yards overbuild development.
Most of the west portion (phase 2 Hudson yards) of the West Side Yards is full of LIRR trains stored there in the mid-day, waiting for the evening rush hour to flush LongIsland -resident workers back to the eastern suburbs. This portion is visible behind (west of) the AP building.
Some NJ Transit & Metro-North commuters are flushed back to the western suburbs via the Pennsylvania RR (now Amtrak) whose eastern mouths are hidden now by the overbuilt AP building.

The AP building and One Penn Plaza (tall black bldg on right w/ red "1" at top) are products of the previous wave-let of development in this area which was in the late 1960s, after the original, classic, much-lamented, Penn Station had been torn down.

The hardcoreshutterbug shot below has less optical zoom, so you can see a portion of Madison Square Garden, which is that round structure partly visible behind the wide building (2 Penn Plaza, on the site of the former Penn Station) in the foreground. Madison Square sits on top of the remaining bowels of Penn Station. MSG received a 10 year extension (MSG wanted a lifetime) to their lease this year and there are hopes that it will move to a different location in the 2020s and funding can be found to demolish MSG & build a suitable headhouse above the bowels again: you can find threads in this forum dealing with that possibility.

The Javits Convention Convention Center is the black cubes at the Hudson River to the right of One Penn Plaza. In front of the Javits are two of the construction sites (west side of 11th Ave) of the #7 subway extension which will be overbuilt with towers sometime in the future. The site between 36th & 35th St has a recently built grayish subway vent building visible in the photo.

The Empire State building (giant ape, regular woman & all that stuff) is on the south side of 34th, so One Penn Plaza blocks the view of the entrance to NYC's newest subway station, the $3B #7 extension. The subway entrance is also on the south side of 34th st, which is the street on the right side of One Penn Plaza. Today is NYC mayor election day & current Mayor Bloomberg leaves office in January. Withing two months Bloomberg will take a ceremonial ride on the extension: he vowed to push the train if he had to. The extension itself does not open till June, 2014. When the extension opens I assume that the three blocks of the newly created Hudson Blvd Park will also open.

Between now and that date the Coach tower will continue rising and yellow gantry erector will start laying down a deck over the Amtrak yard east of the AP bldg.

The High Line has revealed a new design concept for the Spur, the large protruding section over 10th ave at 30th st, which will be directly in the shadow of the Coach Tower. It's substantially different from the cutout concept that's been floating around for several years, and it looks pretty awesome!

Thanks for posting the update. This design seems a better match to the spur's current rehabilitated concrete deck. IIRC the opening date has also been delayed to late '14, from spring '14.

Do you have any plans to visit the 11th Ave viaduct this week for photos?

Cool, I see the core has risen again. This means that it should be approximately 25 meters or 82 feet tall
