What floor is the core on now?
It doesn't seemed to have raised for a few weeks now, unless it's just confused me with the height of floors being shorter than the podiums
The columns are looking great over the highline!

It hasn't moved in a while. I think it's on fl 3? I suspect they won't jump it again until they build the cantilever over the HL spur. When that'll happen is anybody's guess, though they seem to be making good progress on the supporting columns.

EDIT: of course as soon as I say that I realize that they did jump the core, it's just hard to tell from the photo I posted this morning.

You can see it much better looking southwest across the building:

As usual, my hopes for a Manhattan winter wonderland have been crushed.

I'll go out this afternoon and take some more pictures close up. We may have 2-4 inches by then, so it should look pretty surreal. Of course we might also not get crap.
Thanks again for your photos.

The NWS fcast for LI today is still Total daytime snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Regarding this week's weather for travel in NY, NY it looks Wed & Thurs are equally "good". Good being COLD, but mostly sunny.
& the HY exhibit @ TWC will still be open both days...

they said it would be ready in 2015 for their tenants, they're going to keep their word. They even have a countdown clock, iirc.
also snow, yay! troublesome for commuters though.

That is cool, a countdown clock. Hopefully the cold doesn't slow construction too much.

Countdown clock @ TWC exhibit

I visited the Hudson Yards exhibit @ Time Warner Center (TWC in this context). For those not familiar w/ NYC TWC is on the west side of Columbus Circle (SW corner of Central Park)& The Related Companies were a developer of the buildings, whose site was purchased from the MTA (shades of Hudson Yards).
I realized afterwards that I had NOT seen the "detailed" Model.

Anyway, one of the displays contains a countdown clock above a graphic timeline which has been broadly posted:

Note thejacko5 post earlier today:

& my previous comments that I doubt they will get a stump of the Culture Tower built in '14 because the tower's foundation is partly provided by the tunnel box.

& here's a photo taken today of 10 HY taken from W 31st looking SW. Probably not much different from j-biz's similar photo taken from 10th Ave yesterday:

I was there today around 6:30. The detail model was removed last night.

Gotcha.
Tower "C", aka South Tower, aka Coach Tower aka 10 Hudson Yards...

The suits are still talking January platform foundation start: will that happen?

Here's a 12/11 view of Tower C and the adjacent parking garage/plaza-culture shed foundations. Looking east from the 11 th Ave viaduct (at ~ the imaginary 31st St.):

It looks like none of the visible rock anchors for the tunnel box excavation wall have been drilled. However the Komatsu (bottom left) was pushing timbers around to create a platform for a horizontal drill.

And seriously, the most creative thing Coach does is convince people that the 2014 bag they sell is in any significant way different from the bag they sold in 2013.

The actual "design" stuff that the fashion industry does should be in the hands of the customers and automated factories not in some overpaid "artists" hands.

If Coach should be in a barge on the Gowanus, Goldman Sachs should be in a rusty shipping crate in Hoboken.

Gimme Tech companies and hotels and media companies. Also schools and hospitals maybe.

Almost none of the companies in NYC deserve the real estate they own to be honest. None of the companies in the world deserve them.

I love big architecture but I hate practically all companies wealthy enough to afford it.

But I this is going off topic I admit.

Lots of things to go wrong/slow in the future

It could, but it will probably be all forgotten: this is not politics & competing media where people spend time dredging up past statements.

Coordinating the drilling of the caissons between the active LIRR tracks (NOT 10 HY) is an area where progress could really slow down.

The caisson drill rig riding on the rails should be an interesting gizmo. I'm assuming it's components should start showing up in the next few weeks.

Critical, high-risk operations are currently underway at 10 Hudson Yards.

Oh yeah! Handy bathrooms are important for the construction guys, etc. on site.

I assume the skirt on the tower/scaffolding is winter weather related...

Or just weather related in general, like wind, rain, etc. An alternate purpose is to protect children from explicit content.
