I'm not too bothered by this building aside from the obnoxious color. Granted, once HY is complete, (quite a wander down the road from here) it won't exactly "fit in" to the neighborhood anymore but I think even in Manhattan a low-rise building such as this can hold its own and remain useful.

They should deck over Javits Center from 37th Street to 41st and put the new Madison Square Garden on top of the existing Convention Center.

Keep the current Javits Center but add access points to MSG on top.

Wow. You really get a sense of just how imposing this thing will be. I have a feeling Northbound on the High Line is going to become an iconic view corridor akin to Park Ave. where it runs into the MetLife building. Expect an explosion of Instagram photos as this tower begins to clear the surrounding buildings.

Is it just me, or does the core seem to really lag behind the external columns on this building? Beautiful weather here today, btw.

Hey folks, I made a diagram update for this building based on the recent pics and info. The building is currently approximately 50 meters or 164 feet tall

Are there any renderings of Hudson Yards/the future NYC skyline which shows both HY and One WTC in the picture? In all of the renderings of HY I've seen, One WTC is mysteriously gone for some reason.

I had to do a double-take because I couldn't figure out what that huge building in the background was... ESB without it's crown is really trippy looking.

Yeah.

Over on the 30 HY thread, mmkkk reports "Perini is staging equipment for the caisson drilling along the 11th Ave viaduct-casings, tools and a crane. They have blocked off the viewing area along the sidewalk."

I assume mmkkk means the eastern sidewalk on the 11th Ave viaduct, the one that faces the Amtrak tunnel trench and Bauer caisson drills, is that correct?

In addition SSP's tubeworm has posted a few April 6th photos by Tectonic (from wirednewyork.com) of 10 HY:

http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/show...&postcount=379

I've only reposted one of the Tectonic captures, this one looking WNW from 30th St, which almost, but not quite, captures the derelict smokestack next to the j-biz building. I like that smoke stack (out of frame to right):
