Haven't seen any new shots in quite a while. Is this still moving along at a glacial pace?

But, there is progress on the adjoining Fairway market/Culture Shed Plaza/terra firma platform, as shown by the ILNY photos (below) taken this weekend. Photos are looking east from the 11th Ave viaduct; the "High Line at the Rail Yards" is visible on the right of the 2nd photo:

ILNY http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpo...postcount=3922

I can imagine that the Fairview Market could open in 2015, IF they had pedestrian pathways available to the market through the construction.

I guestimate that half the length of the Fairway Market along 30th street is in the street level of 10 HY:

From the 5/30/14 https://onlinedocs.related.com/HYDoc...fact-sheet.pdf

AND, the renderings and actual photos are quite a change since the photo below, BUT the High Line remains. I assume this photo was taken from the roof of the then-new USPS Morgan General Mail Facility facility looking west across the Hudson River towards Weehawken, NJ. The USPS facility is still there but the HL's 10th Ave spur (photo bottom center) no longer runs into it. This mid-1930s? photo was taken when the "30th Street" yard was owned by the NY Central Railroad, & ~50 years before the MTA LIRR re-built the rail yard as the West Side Storage Yard (& tunneled under 10th Ave to connect the WSSY to Penn Station) & before the 11th Ave viaduct was built above the yard (1940s?):

Hey folks, it's a long time since I visited SSC. I had a ton of studying since next year I'm gonna start on a uni, but all went well and now I have a free summer. I've updated my diagram with the latest progress. I estimate the building to be currently still only arround 50 meters or 164 feet tall and the latest pics I saw show no progress since I last visited this thread 2 months ago. But we have to look at the brighter side, I still estimate this building to be 1 meter taller than 3WTC

Roof height used below

Newish photo via ny.curbed.com

I don't knwo who is the source of this newish photo which is an overhead view of the 10 HY adjoining Fairway Market/Culture Shed plaza. 10 HY is out-of-frame to the right; photo was probably taken from the Ohm building on the south side of W 30th St.

No, pace has picked up after double floor was completed.

Can you find this worker on the picture below?

Some scaffolding is finally gone !

Thank you for the weekend (6.21.2014) photos.

Note that one of the ILNY photos (reposted below) is from a point on the High Line (looking north) common to many other 10 HY photos. So you could do "growth rate" calculations:

ILNY(_) 10 Hudson Yards (Coach Tower) Taken on June 21, 2014

I also note that the banner advertises:

Thanks for the update. Without the scaffolding this cavernous (what I assume will be an entry way) looks like it is going to be epic.

I like the video captures of an under-construction Manhattan mixed in with residents and tourists (High Line, etc). And also the noises: commercial jets, helos, etc.

IMHO a good ad for visiting NYC (tourists $$s appreciated), if you like reality, such as the DSNY garbage trucks lined up on the 11th Ave viaduct, etc.
Also includes footage of the "j-biz memorial" Class C?? office building & adjacent smokestack.

And I can still imagine the current, tLeCom/okyocheesesteak captured reality (snip below) having an OPEN Fairway Market in 2015 (further below). Both image views are from south side of 30th st looking NW.

LeCom/tokyocheesesteak https://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...jzYwcwzcP4#t=3

The Culture Shed & Culture Tower (35 HY) will NOT look as shown in the rendering below in 2015, dunno if the 10HY lobby (furthest right) will be open.

JUNE Geoff Butler photos

Exact date unknown, but I assume very recent.

From the NY HY FB page

all photo credits Geoff Butler

Looking south from atop 10HY or a crane

Looking west from atop 10 HY:

Looking NW & down from 10 HY with DSNY garbage trucks parked on 11th Ave viaduct in background:

Looking SW & down:

And a bonus shot of the Amtrak Gateway project tunnel box excavation looking west. TWO concrete pumps operating and I do not see any excavator/rock hammers in the excavation:

Hard to believe that all this development was jumpstarted by a derelict railroad track turning into a park.

The High Line certainly ties into this, but I think you also have the Bloomberg admin Olympic bid from the 2000's.
And there was something related to overbuild development planning when the old NY/Penn Central W. 30th street yard was rebuilt as the MTA LIRR West Side Storage Yard in the 1980s

Thanks for the info. Any new photos of platform steel going up?

I zoomed in on the photo of the gateway tunnel box excavation & I think I see at least one excavator still in the trench. So it seems that they are still hammering away at the rock in the midpoint of the trench. Still, maybe they will have the crown of the concrete casing poured in the east end by July end (I'm just guessing).

Those 3-high stacked jersey barriers acting as a temporary retaining wall on top of the '80s Empire connection tunnel box still make me smile.

steel progress on Culture Shed Plaza looks good

Thank you for posting themodulorman photos above. I'm posting another one that gives an overhead of the Culture Shed Plaza/Fairway Market (bottom of panorama). I'm guessing the RIGHTmost steel is platform-over-the-rail-yards/LIRR MoE-structuresteel

Untitled by themodulorman, on Flickr

I don't see the hydraulic crane in the middle of the steel, so I assumed they pulled it out. Maybe in prep for doing the westernmost portion of the steel?

10 HY "the first to be completed next year"

At the end of June 2014, Related VP architect Michael Samuelian is sticking to story: 10 HY "completed next year"; "now nine stories out of the ground"

NEWS:
Beam by Beam, a Mega-Project Grows
By C. J. Hughes
June 30, 2014

Quote:
Rarely do you get to build a neighborhood from scratch,” said Samuelian, who also showed off 10 Hudson Yards, an angular 52-story office tower designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF) that is now nine stories out of the ground. That tower, which is now 80 percent leased to tenants like Coach, will be the first to be completed next year, because it sits on the ground and did not need a special platform for support.

And here's a low-res photo from Architectural Record article that shows the beginnings of the overbuild of the rail yard (MoE structure)
Looking SE from rail yard level, just north of Amtrak excavation. Photo date assumed to be Thursday 6/26/2014:

Six more months to go in 2014. Can they go from this (AR photo looking north from 10 HY, overbuild platform start at photo bottom):

to this by the end of 2014 (timeline diagram is looking NE)?

Yeah that is a long long way to go. Still, I'm happy as long as there is steady progress, even if they're not hitting their targets.
