Finally made it back to the west side, so naturally I went a little overboard.

Approaching from the High Line:

A view of the new HL section meeting the platform. Of course I went one day before they opened it up.

The platform's a double-decker. Who knew!

Still real busy in the trenches:

You can see where the tunnel dips down. There's just one section in the middle that's not covered over already.

One sad little piece of curtain wall is up, as previously reported:

It's definitely rawer.. is that a word? lol. While I do like it, I kinda wished it was more like phase 1 & 2 tbh. That's my preference.

It kind of starts off like phase 1 & 2 by the Coach tower right up to the 2nd phase section of the Hudson Yards and then it gets very raw and maybe when the trees and plants mature, I will really dig it. The coolest part definitely is the old train track that runs along the whole 3rd section. When the Hudson Yards build out is completed it will be breathtaking to walk that section but the views of the Hudson river is priceless. cheers.

Interesting note on the High Line 3rd section (just opened a few days ago):

"...the interim walkway, where the path runs alongside the wild remains of the overgrown rail tracks, is only designed to last 10 to 15 years. A more permanent version of the interim path will take its place once the massive rail yard development next door is finished, in theory, though that section is not yet funded."

Will we see anymore greenery on the new section of the highline?
It looks a bit plain... What makes the other bit so great is how dense it is, adds a lot of character!
But in that section they even have tarmac flooring which is awful! Can't they use wood or stone/concrete like the other sections?
