What is this huge Grey plane supposed to be? The cladding looks really good. I like how they seem to cover the row below. Like the german Bieber tail.

The grey CMU wall is where the retail podium will be flush against 10 HY. So there's no point in putting expensive glass panels there.

Curbed NY picked up a story by the New York Post about rumors regarding Coach's move to 10 HY. I have my doubts about the credibility of this publication in general and this story in particular but here it is:
http://ny.curbed.com/archives/2014/1...dson_yards.php
http://nypost.com/2014/11/05/coachs-...-move-at-risk/

The New York Post reports that Coach is rethinking the specifics of the move to Hudson Yards due to the company's serious financial troubles. The headline is definitely more dramatic than the rest of the article. It doesn't sound like Coach is seriously considering to not move to 10 HY. Instead, the article states that the company seems to be thinking about selling the space and leasing it back to free up cash for other corporate needs. I was under the impression that they're leasing the space. Is that not the case? Again, the credibility of this report is somewhat questionable in my opinion.

they own their space, therefore it's not Related cos issue and will not effect towards the construction. If Coach moving fwd decides to sell , it's all on them. Another option they can do is sublease, check that I mean lease the majority of the space and keep a floor or two for their HQ kinda like NYTimes has done on their tower.

Coach's stock has been hammered this past year reporting weak earnings but things could end up going back up by the time the tower is completed & decide to stay.

I just read on twitter that Coach could end up leasing the space themselves to someone else as they own it as a condominium... Or something along those lines

If that is true, that could also rack up Coaches prfits over time surely? Especially if the demand for office space keeps up

If they stay in their current location and lease out 10 HY, it means we won't be seeing 50 HY built anytime soon.

I think Coach just wants to cash out and restack with a new lease. The net new available space can be easily leased since the tower is well underway. 50 HY is a more long-term play. If it has to wait 5 years, so what? Related is all about the residential $pace anyway...

Thank you: I like the mildness of your turn of phrase "I have my doubts about the credibility of this publication in general".

My elderly neighbor BUYS this publication & I occasionally skim it: it's quite a trip down a rabbit-hole.

Thanks again.

at around 1:40 into the video you get a perfect horizontal view of the entire 'Hudson Yards' development zone. It's one big construction zone, a few highrises and the railyard at this point. 10 Hudson Yards already looks pretty big from the air.
